Parents: Do you go thru your kid's phone??? Do you discuss the things you may see that are perhaps unfavorable, (outside of anything sexual)??? I'm thinking about the most recent incident @ Deanwood station... There's obviously an audience for these recorded fights... no different than when there was a fight @ school and those who were around ran to watch it.... I see fights posted on social media by adults who find it entertaining... So its no surprise that its entertaining to young ppl... But, what are We (cuz I'm not perfect) as parents really teaching our kids about these kinda things??? Just looking for different perspectives..

If they're in your house, under 18, you got every right to do so. I don't fault any parent staying on top of this.

Mine is 7 and doesn't have social media and won't for a long time but I monitor everything she does on the net that I can. She has an iPad and a PC.

Windows 10 has made snooping so simple. I'm the NSA now.

So the same person that made the thread on FB said they think kids are obligated to accept friend requests from parents on social media accounts.

My response would be

^ So say if they are 15 and older. They are able to pay for their own phone bill but that friend request hasn't been accepted by them. I'm just saying, how does that convo go? They straight up say, "I don't want you snooping on my account." They don't have that right?

my son doesn't have social networks that I know of, but he got his little friends on PS4  I don't really monitor it

as far as the phone, I pay that bill so I could see everything but I don't check that much either I just glance to see if anything looks strange

My lil cuz got in trouble like that before, he was talking slick to his mom she went thru his phobe and found nudes n pics of himself naked he was 15 at the time lol

I don't think my parents did my folks were pretty cool when it came to personal space

All this monitoring is not necessary.

Word ,super overprotective parents raise the best liars by far.

Internet monitoring I can understand when they're young but monitoring their phone? Eh don't see the point tbh
