My Sneaker Brand - Lumi Shoes

Hey guys, I'm starting my own sneaker brand and thought this was the right place if any to get some feedback.

We're called Lumi Shoes and our shoes focus on technology and customisation.

I have about 3-4 designs (runners, low-tops, mid-tops and hi-tops all look vastly different) ready to be manufactured at the moment but their illustrations aren't as elaborated as the model's below, so here's a preview:

On this model you'll be able to customise the underglow of your sole through a connection between a bluetooth chip in your sole and our mobile app which will have an RGB wheel.

I'm currently a finalist in a competition for start up ideas at my university where the winner gets £30,000 towards their idea (only about £2,000 cash, the rest through services and other means). We're currently on a open public voting stage which nets you a separate prize so if you guys are interested in voting here's the link:

I'm also hoping to get funding for this project in the future through Kickstarter or a crowdfunding campaign.

I know this product isn't for everyone, the industry is highly competitive and hard to break into but I welcome any feedback and constructive criticism.

lolololol.... get fresh designs dont integrate many popular designs on one shoe and expect it to be a hit.. 

not hating at all just funny that i can see atleast 3 pair of shoes in one

colorchanging via bluetooth would be a hit in texas....

Who are you marketing these too? 

I could see kids wearing these if the price was right, but me as an adult no. 
 
I'm assuming you have a ton of capital as well as a really good marketing plan?
 
Today's adults wear loud and child-like print with pride, so I dont see there being any problem marketing this.

Aside from the lighting aspect, the shoes look very sleek and well formed. Aesthetically, I don't think they're bad. Good job and good luck.

Hey the reason why you may see that is because I took inspiration from certain designs, mainly Nike Blazers for the general shape, the reason for that is that I wanted to create something relatable but thanks I'll definitely try to make something way more unique in the future!

Here in the UK, LED shoes have recently became somewhat popular and you definitely get that sort of attention! I suppose if you really like to stand out from the crowd then these would be perfect for you.

Young Adults but will also have kids sizes. We're moving towards the future so I wanted to convey a futuristic look but at the same time I attempted to create a pair of LEDs that would still pop even with the lights turned off. Our other models are a lot more 'subtle' on the light part, some of them don't have LEDs at all.

Would you say that the lights on the shoe give a sort of childish perception to the brand then?

In terms of capital no and it's really hard to come by hence the reason why I was looking towards a crowdfunding campaign.

In terms of marketing plan yes but it's hard to explain here without it sounding boring but in short I'll be doing product launches through fashion shows in London and other cities in the UK where we encourage local brands to display or promote their collections which will allow us to network and gain some brand recognition. I believe it'll work if it's executed properly.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! Yes I have HD pictures but unfortunately the glow effect isn't noticeable but I can definitely post those if you want to have a look! Once again thanks for the vote!

Yeah I believe Tyga does too? Our differentiation is the integration with the mobile app so you can pic whatever colour you want, it'll have a similar effect to the PS4 controller LEDs

Thank you! I've shown the designs to a lot of people through our customer development scheme and had a large positive response and that response was what actually made me take this idea forward because originally I had many doubts. What would you say could change your perception towards the lighting aspect?

hahaha all we need now is for these shoes to shoot lasers.
 
it doesnt matter what your idea is.
Just keep pushing and accomplishing mini goals everyday and you are already successful.
