Say people aren't into Nike/Jordan/hypebeast sneakers anymore, and all of your stuff is going for less than retail...

Would you regret not selling your collection?

If you have a collection, why are you sitting on it? Do you ever plan on selling it? Why not now?

If you have a collection that's mostly DS, what do you get from having it? What would make you sell it?

Have you ever sat and calculated what you would earn from selling? What else you could buy/invest in? What's stopping you from pulling the trigger?
 
no cuz i never paid over retail for my shoes and i wear em :smokin

My opinion "looking good" and wearing nice clothes is a very good investment, but then again who am I??

My answer is that it takes a lot of time and patience to make a profit on the sale of shoes.

It takes a lot of time to sell the stuff if you want to make a profit. Plus you'll have lowballs, cash offers, broke people offering you team jordans and cash for a trade.

Ebay and Paypal combine for almost 14% of the final price of clothing / shoes now.

Then you have to ship.

There are several Sneaker consignment shops that will gladly take your J's back for the Retail price or a little more.

So here is an actual Estimate that I sent to a Consignment shop in LA that does BUYOUTs

All my shoes were DS. They Quoted me $1700 for a buyout = "JUST" a little OVER RETAIL...... They also told me that I could do Consignment for more $$$ but that it takes longer

I know that these places are a business, and they can't be paying resell prices.

I sold them myself and on average made WAY MORE BUT it took a while, and I had to deal with NON PAYING bidders (Including bidders who win and offer a lower price) lowballs, and shipping.

This. This young dude was crazy when he seen my global game kds. Them/grey and yellow am95 are my every day joints. Mon-fri those the only kicks I wear. Dude straight told me I'm crazy and he wouldn't wear em if he were me.... I'm 26 fam I'm not letting shoes sit in the box no more.
 
All sneakers in my collection are worn with a little less dambs than when I was younger , as i got older I realized alot of things : you only have 2 feet , there are way more important things in life than puttin money in Nike's pokets, with the money and time spent on my collection I would've most likely have my own house by now , nothing lasts forever , my daughter doesnt eat Jordans , she didnt learn her numbers by practicing on the retros , having to campout, do raffles ,jump thru flaming hoops to get some sneakers is just a no go in my book now . Dont get me wrong....i still buy kicks and my girl stays blessing me with stuff here and there...but im super duper selective now when I do and if I do I have to make sure they are suuuperrrr comfortable...have too many lebrons that I cant wear for more than a couple of hours(yea i know half size up...i did that tho ....u guys must not know about the lebron sizing dilemas).
I dont think ill sell my collection....unless its my only option in life. Only pair I have That are DS are some LBJ 4's east coast 9.5 that im willing to let go.PM is open.).
At the end of day do what you love, but always remember that yes there is something called life outside of sneakers.

Note: Im talking about sneakers...not collections of other stuff...
 
I sold off my collection already.

Only DS kicks I got left are Fragment 1's & Infrared 6's but I'm looking to move those too [emoji]128064[/emoji]

If I don't wear it, then I'm passing it along to someone I know really wants it; either for what I paid, less (if I wore them even once), or free depending on who they are/how I feel at the moment.

Not about that resale nonsense at all unless I'm hunting for some original gems.

If i have ds kicks its with the intent of wearing. No pun intended, but I can kick over any day, so I enjoy what I have. I dont break out my kicks and just look at em just for em to retro next week.
 
Nope. All my kicks are being worn and really haven't added anything since 2010-2011 other than functional shoes. Too old for this hypebeast ish now when I got kids, a mortgage, education and retirement funds I am trying to get right.

Sometimes wen i buy sneakers i dont eem open the box.
It could be a completely different pair of shoes in there for all i know.

Nope. Because I bought them with the intention of breaking necks and answering superfluous questions. I still wanna be like Mike (minus the jail building)
 
I'm going to die wearing a pair of Uptempos or some J's, couldn't care less.
