Question to all you OG's

Do you guys still purchase expensive sneakers (J's, Kobe's, Lebrons etc.)? About a month ago I was itching for some sport blue VI's because I haven't owned any J's in a while but then I stopped myself. I thought I really wanted them badly but then I came to realize it was just a big waste of money. I know how everyone says the shoe is only worth how much you're willing to pay for it. Well **** that I ain't paying $170 for some sneakers that are massed produced in a sweatshop with no quality control, and at the same time putting $$$$ in MJ's pockets.

Gone are the days where I throw my money away like it grows on trees. To top it all off know one cares what you got on your feet, only you. The reason why I brought this up is because I'm trying to stop my spending on useless **** I don't need. A pair of $40-$50 Nikes and a nice pair of boots will do just fine. I don't see how people be dropping $1k on some Yeezy boosts :smh: . Just cringing just thinking about it.

I was never willing to pay retail for shoes.

I always got 2 or 3 pairs from different stores and sold the extra pairs to keep mine for free.

I have like about 40-50 pairs of shoes and the only ones I paid for were Bred 1s, DB 1s, Pinnacle 1s, CP3 13s and HGG 13s.

Everything else was pretty much free including db 3, db 10, db foams, WC 88s, and some other assorted heat. Sold the yeezy 2s plats and solars for stupid money but kinda wish i kept them.

Anyway... It's too much trouble to get shoes now especially multiple pairs, so I don't bother. Also I just bought a house. Any shoes I get are to flip for new faucets or furniture or entertainment upgrades. Will be in the hunt for true blue 3s to keep though

Not spending on sneakers anymore has really allowed me to build a good amount of savings.

I still have roughly 40 pairs, really dont need others.

Plus i have to wear dress shoes 5 days / week so really whats the point?

I gave up shopping for a year outside of the funko pop action figures.

I'm saving so much money. I didn't realize I was shopping so much.

Instead of shopping, I'm buying stocks .

I basically now have a Costco wardrobe and wait for deals on running shoes (Flyknits/AirMax/UltraBoost).

4 shares of NKE stock > a pair of LeBron's from a reseller.

I don't buy shoes unless I know I'm going to wear them to the ground basically, like running shoes or casual shoes I really like. My problem now is buying the expensive Nike running apparel...it's so expensive, but just so amazing (to me) :smh:

I just bought some knit shirts, don't even want to say how much I spent per shirt :x

^ same here. I finally decided to to just run my Kobe V's to the ground hahaha. I'm actually disappointed because it didn't take long for the right shoe to start peeling off from the midsole... Seriously I paid $100 for these man wth. And Nike apparel is overpriced to me even though their stuff is :smokin

I only buy a pair of Hyperdunks every couple months for balling purposes. I really don't want to continue supporting Nike, but other shoe companies seemingly have no idea how to make a basketball shoe.

Getting to the point where I can't justify it anymore but not fully admitting it for the moment. I've never paid resell ever though but my habits have changed now where I only cop what I really want & will never pay over $200

I buy shoes as I need them.

Sometimes I cop randomly while out shopping, but I don't hunt down or overspend on shoes anymore.

And by overspend, I mean pay some price on eBay. I only buy shoes for retail.

I don't know the last time I bout a pair of tennis though

I wouldn't consider myself an OG, but here's my input.

I still have ~35 pairs of desirable Jordan's in my closet, but I haven't worn them in ~ two years. I do wear my Nike's to run everyday though.

I stick to more "adult" shoes on a day-to-day basis. The days of spending $150 for a pair of basketball/tennis shoes are over.

Although I have more $$$ to spend, I have less time to wear them.
I'm in dress code 80% of the time, so I don't even bother.
The only reason why I haven't sold my remaining 60+? pairs is because they're in storage with a bunch of other stuff.

I haven't copped any shoes with hype for almost a decade now, and I only recently seen the prices of Js, son...what?! Talk about inflated, I was horrified...hawryFYD!!!

Bought a few Jordan's lately after being on like a 8yr hiatus, 72-10s, WC 4s, Aquas, but my fly knits still beat out those. I'm not chasing everything down anymore but since those were easy to cop I couldn't resist.

Only way I'm buying Jordan's is on a significant discount, im not paying $200+ for sneakers anymore. Puma Suedes and SB Janoskis hold me down

Very few. Maybe 2 to 3 per year. I've been a big fan of the boycott and/or scaling down for years.

I DO NOT BUY
LeBrons
Kobes
Kyries
Kds

AT ALL!

Those days are long gone.

I buy 2 pairs of sneakers per year from Amazon at discount, usually New Balance.

I buy a pair of Italian or English made oxfords or boots when I come across them at a fair price.

Ultimately you buy what you like, it's your money. As for me, I've slowed down but recently (within the last year), I've bought a lot. Mostly stuff I missed and not current releases. I'm seeing an end though. Luckily for work, I do have the option of wearing sneakers even though I go between shoes and sneakers.
