Another honest question: how do you suppose we determine which transgender people have had sexual reassignment surgery? If its okay for people to use their preferred bathroom after surgery, can people who have their surgery scheduled use their preferred bathroom leading up to the procedure?
What about people who can't have sexual reassignment surgery due to medical complications (think people who are anemic) or because they can't afford the surgery? Will it never be okay for them to use their preferred bathroom because they are unable to undergo the procedure?

To me these laws are silly and any state that passes them deserves to lose all money possible by ppl and businesses bringing in money to those states.
This issue is ridiculous. The lot of us have grown up in households where both males and females have used the same bathroom for the most part. This idea that public bathrooms are hotspots for transgenders to attack children or expose themselves is a completely manufactured "threat" fueled by bigots who want to continue to discriminate on the LBGTQ community.
Also this whole bring your birth certificate with you to the bathroom for some dude to check before you use the bathroom is insane. These idiots about to create a market for doctored birth certificates

To answer your question:
1. I dont think there is anyway of determining if someone has had the surgery. I have no idea how they would enforce such a rule, I dont think "genital" checks should be done, its a good question. To the second part of that first one, I'd still say no. Got to use the bathroom you're supposed to go to
2. I still dont think they should just use whatever bathroom they want, just like I cant just rewrite my birth certificate to say female.
It's a weird topic and I cant sit here and act like I have all the answers. After typing all that up, I dont even think if you got the reassignment surgery you should use the other bathroom. If you were born a male, you are a male to me. I dont care how much surgery you got or cosmetic changes have been made. Now do I think everyone else should live according to my beliefs? Of course not, but thats how I feel on the matter. I dont see a problem with the law and i think the companies and musicians boycotting NC are only doing so for publicity purposes
