A McDonald's customer in Arkansas accused of emptying his cup of water and filling it with soda now faces a robbery charge, police said Tuesday.

The restaurant manager said the suspect was one of three people who asked for water at the drive-thru window in Springdale. The customers parked and walked into the store before dumping out the water and pouring soda into the cups, KHBS/KHOG-TV reports.

The manager spotted the three and told them to return the soda. Only 18-year-old Cody Morris refused, police say.

The manager even ran out and tried to block Morris' car from leaving, but the suspect reportedly drove his vehicle in reverse and hit the worker twice before speeding away.

Police arrested the driver after they said they found his car at a nearby bowling alley. It's unclear whether he'll face any additional charges aside from felony robbery.

Springdale is roughly 8 miles north of Fayetteville.

 why does the manager care? It didn't come out of his pocket. Clown.

It literally costs the company fractions of a cent. That's where most of their profit is made, on drinks. It's just water and concentrated syrup(sugar). He going hard for that employee of the month

Bruh gone end up losing his life over some soda one day. Not mad at the felony charge tho. I mean, it is stealing. But, I dont think it warrants jail time.

Edit: wait, shouldn't it only be a misdemeanor?

I wouldn't like customers doing that either. One customer does it and more cheap mofos will start to do it.

that manager is the same one that gives you two packs of ketchup when you ask for some

Nah not really. There's just always a select few of fast food employee's who take their job way too serious. Any job I've ever had that involved dealing with customers I distinctively recall each manager telling me if we were ever to get robbed to listen to what they demand and let them walk, that our lives were more important then anything. I know that's not the situation here but as soon as homie bounced the situation should have ended there. Manager was doing the most right there pleighboi

I got accused one time of putting soda in a water cup.
Manager lady was trippin' on me for no reason.
Talking 'bout "I saw you put Sprite in your cup."
I was feeling dehydrated so that's why I got water.
Wasn't in the mood to put up with her so I demanded she look and smell my cup. She refused, so then I said "If you're not willing to try to prove me wrong then why even assume I got soda instead of water? Why say anything at all if you weren't going to actually attempt to prove otherwise?" I guess she just wanted to embarrass me in front of the other customers, to this day I remember drinking water. A $1 drink wasn't going to kill me.

If the company can afford the have all their money stolen from the register, then I'm sure they can afford to have 4 ounces of soda stolen. It's just carbonated water, & syrup. Manager went about it all wrong.
