Prince, Passes Away at 57.

Pretty cool.

Prince, the Minnesota-born international superstar whose sound revolutionized pop music and put the Minneapolis scene on the map, was found dead Thursday morning at his Paisley Park studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

On Thursday night, fans gathered at First Avenue in Minneapolis — the club where Prince shot his film "Purple Rain" more than three decades ago — for an all-night dance party in honor of the music icon.

Tmz is saying he OD'd on percs a few days back.

I get prescribed 15mg for my back issues but only take them for bad flare ups. I've never craved them when I'm not in pain so never understood why people get hooked to them. Really is a sad situation though.

Prime Sherilyn Fenn as well....

Was talking to a few of my dudes last night about this and one said "literally the coolest ************ on earth died today".

True story.

Dog, he smashed Audrey Horne?!?!?! This takes the cake for me. She was so damn fly on Twin Peaks.

OK, so he OD'd but he wasn't on no junkie **** which makes sense no one saw it coming.

Damn that makes it even sadder

Do yourself a favor a find an erotic B movie called Two Moon Junction.

A film I somehow saw at a wildly inappropriate age where I learned that the rug and the drapes will not always match

Some various Prince related stuff...

The Foreign Exchange ft. Questlove - The Purple Flip. Song from a couple of years ago. Great tribute song.

D'Angelo's cover of She's Always In My Hair.

Alicia Keys - How Come You Don't Call Me... I would like to know who in the hell didn't call her back... That fool needs a Charlie Murphy smack to the face...

Prince cover of Radiohead's Creep when he headlined Coachella in 2008. It had been available via bootlegs only until late last year when Thom Yorke gave permission for it to be posted on YT...

good **** my dude... :smokin

Another of my favorite performances. Prince fought to keep it off the net but Thom wanted the people to hear it so Prince eventually gave in.

Sons solos are on another level. My ex girl didn't get why I was so impacted by this death. She hadn't really listened to any Prince at all besides when I would play the PR album around her. I sent her some live performances and cuts that I love and she said when she got to this song the tears started rolling about halfway through and she didn't even know why.

That is the power of the Purple One.

Blasting Adore right now. We miss you man :frown:

Forgot, she also said she never found him attractive until she saw him shredding Guitar Gently Weeps

I remember getting roasted on here a few years back for saying he was one of the greatest guitarists to ever do it. Clowns kept posting the Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Guitarists list like "look where he is on here." Just told everyone to watch him live and get back to me.

Supposedly someone was interviewing Eric Clapton a few years ago and asked him what it was like to be the best guitar player in the world. Clapton smiled and said "I wouldn't know. You should ask Prince."

Peace,
J

Some circles on here follow what they are told, they were told he belongs way down on the list and they believed it, just like I don't think Ernie Isley gets the respect as a guitarist that he deserves, neither did Prince.

Agreed. Told them that list was null & void when Kurt Cobain landed at #5 or whatever he was, when by his own admission, Kurt wasn't a great player.

I'm still struggling with this. Was in a meeting yesterday when I got the news and just straight checked out. I was blessed to have seen him live a handful of times, most recently about a year ago. I got to take my dad, who bought me Purple Rain on vinyl for helping him mow yards when I was little. Never thought that would be the last time.

Peace,
J

She was vicious man. Never knew that story

Tariq Nasheed 10 hrs · So TMZ- which is owned by Time Warner, the parent company of Prince's label Warner Brothers- is now saying Prince had a drug overdose.. So earlier today, reports said he died of the flu..Then reports started coming in saying he died of AIDS..NOW it's a drug overdose. They haven't even decided which lie they are going to stick to. If he had a drug overdose, why won't they name the drug it was? Are any of you seriously buying any of this garbage they are telling us about this brother's death?
