Wrestling Thread May2-9/ The NEW ERA/WWE Black Friday/ Hornswoggle, Cameron, Santino, Zeb Colter, Al

I think AJ is actually better in-ring. He just has ZERO character and charisma. This is where Finn has him beat.

I think Finn has a good character, but he's not very charismatic..And if you'd watch BK's stuff from Japan while he was in the Bullet Club you'd think differently about his charisma..If Vince would let him act the way he's done for the past 1 1/2 while in NJPW he'd be even more over than he is now (and that's saying something considering he's probably top 3 in terms of being over)..

And exactly what is Finnagan's character?
I mean NXT has obviously overdone the whole demon thing....But if they let him rock the leather jacket and just be a cocky bad *** dude outside of the PPVs, and then let him do different costumes and whatnot for the PPVs he will be good to go. This is WAY more than anything Styles has to offer....I like the dude, but his character is literally just being a good wrestler. We already had that with Daniel Bryan, who was WAY better on the mic and infinitely more charismatic...

If they didn't waste those early Reigns championship wins I definitely could have seen the WWE giving Fashion a month long reign with the title. Only to drop the strap at MITB.

But there's no way you can have Ramen become a 4 time WWE Champion in less than a year.

Fam, you gotta stop giving Vince ideas. You know he lurks here.

But that was my whole argument regarding BK...Due to his lacking mic skills and whatnot, you need to make him the head of a feared faction, which he was in Japan. If you do that, he's much more believable as an actual threat to the championship.

So basically you just like that Finnagan's a good finger painter. I guess that's cool.

It's pretty crazy how Styles found the best character for himself 13 years after he debuted. His second best character was comedic heel AJ when he was teaming with Tomko and Christian. That mini-Flair garbage fit him about as well as trying to make Ted Dibiase Jr like his dad.

You just being bias b

You guys are all basing your strong opinions of Styles on his work in Japan when he was the head of the most popular faction in the world outside of the WWE. This obviously elevates him....

If Finnigan debuts at Extreme Rules, it's a sure bet he'll be BBC leader and will gun for the title.

So then where does that leave BK Fashion?

Within the WWE, Styles has been great in-ring, but has absolutely nothing going as far as an actual character. His character at the moment, is really good wrestler who has a relationship with a couple tough bald dudes...

Id take Styles over Bryan too. Bryans run at the top was so short & overrated. He was just more over than Styles. Had AJ come to WWE earlier, he'd be much better on the mic. TNA, ROH & NJPW were perfectly fine with AJ not doing anything but put on good matches & never really had him speak. Anderson has always been the mouthpiece of the Bullet Club

Since he's been down in NXT, what are some of Finger Paint Finn's best matches?

Has he had a match that justifies this "he's going to go straight for the title" talk? Or is his hype a product of him being the former leader of the Bully Club?

What does being the mouth of a Japanese wrestling faction that speaks English actually mean though? I don't watch, so I really have no idea. Just seems kind of crazy to me...

I dont see him going straight for the belt but just feuding with AJ

Finn has plenty of good matches tho. Hes not all hype

But you're basing Finn's charisma on an "if".."if they let him rock the leather jacket and just be a cocky bad *** dude outside of the PPVs, and then let him do different costumes and whatnot for the PPVs he will be good to go."..So you're basically doing the same thing we are..Either way, both guys are elite level wrestlers that need a specific angle/gimmick to be the most effective..I personally just think AJ is on a higher level of wrestling ability than Fergie..

I agee that AJ's wrestling is better. IMO, Finn's character was significantly more pronounced in his first few months in NXT than whatever AJ has been though. Obviously there is a difference between NXT and WWE, but there's no way you're telling me that Finn's first few months in NXT couldn't have been just as good on the main roster...

Basically Anderson was always the real leader of the Bullet Club but since AJ & Finn were the biggest guys it always seemed like they were. The Bullet Club was brash & disrespectful to the crowd. In NJPW they arent really used to that, its more respectful over there so them gaining heat thru Andersons actions and words really meant he was getting to them lol. All AJ had to do over there was follow their lead & put on great matches while having heel tendencies. He didnt need a real gimmick over there. Kinda same for ROH but for different reasons

So basically Anderson was to BBC what Jeans was to Shield?

Good on mic, okay at best in ring.

Basically. Anderson used to harrass the dudes who would try to interview them & say ish like "We cant understand you! Speak english!" and push him around & ish like that while the others laughed and then proceed to cut his promo against their opponents

Yeah I know their crowds are much different over there, so honestly, it seems like a very easy angle for them to play with a bunch of American dudes....After reading this, I feel like it verifies my thinking even more. AJ wasn't even the mouthpiece for this group in an easy gimmick. Of course he's going to put on great matches because he's a great wrester. He just doesn't have the mic skills and charisma to completely flourish on the biggest stage of all, where your character is almost just as important as your in-ring skills....
