I also heard them call that area by the Willis Ave Bridge the "Piano District"
Anyway, you can live in the BX and be fine its not like an actual death trap BUT I would suggest other areas first since you aren't familiar.

Not gonna front, I lived here in Brooklyn my whole life, been to the Bronx maybe about 6x at most. Ain't nothing out there unless you trying to get a bad Dominican chick out there. Maybe a few parties but that's about it for me.

Dont call it that, dont call it the piano district,none of that. The area gentrifying is close to the new Yankee Stadium and around 231st to 240th/Riverdale area because of Manhattan College. I also wouldnt say an hour especially if your near a metro north station or an expressline.

The Bronx is alright. I just hate traveling up there. Just mind your business and don't look like a victim and you're good. Got family that lives up there as well a few friends. I also work up there from time to time.

You're right. But there have been times where I've felt uncomfortable, or felt like someone was about to run up.
Or when you find yourself passing the wrong stoop on your way home at 3am.
Just gotta put your shoulders back and pass through freely. I don't know about anyone else, but there were occasions where I have feared for my safety growing up in the Bronx. I just never showed it, and never had an issue other than stoop kids. Just stare them right back in the face, and they usually just look away.
I don't know if that means I'm built like that or not.
