Discipline or Child Abuse? Vol. Boxing Your Son

But y everything gotta be posted online ? , can't teach your kids a lesson without social media involved these days :smh:

And always funny when somebody talking **** to the person they beating on
People "secretly" compete for parent of the year on the Facebook man. That is all that is. They want pats on the back for being a strong parent with an iron fist

no thats everywhere  soon as people here you have kids they want to tell you how great and ahead of the curve their child is. Like its some **** measuring competition

Yea don't let me get on the insane number of child related posts/pictures on Social Media. People don't give a damn about your child as much as you want them to man. I don't think people realize this.

People showing all of the activities they put their child in. Especially black people man. Let a black mother put her child in swimming, gymnastics, tennis, or golf. Man they post EVERY event man.

I just don't get it

Maybe I'm old fashion, but a 3 month old having a fb account is a bit much.

People don't realize how annoying it is, no one cares about your ugly child.
People post naked bath pictures of their kids and post them online man. Like WHY! What is the point.

I think everyone thinks their child is cute man

I don't understand. If I had a child, I would forbid the mother to post a single picture online

All that evidence but he called it parenting.

I thought only young dudes did things like this according to what you constantly hear

no problem with spanking a child ESPECIALLY a boy

I don't even soo much mind the boxing part of it, but a line has to be drawn and making your child bleed is definitely over the line IMO, and posting it online is ignorant as hell and asking for trouble

Of course they do

But I'd totally believe you being that one person that didn't.

If he was getting spanked like a child I'd agree.

Putting hands on a 17 year old period. As a parent, come on man. Boxing, whooping.

And we are supposed to believe that 17 year old shouldn't have hit back? (Not implying YOU said that)

If there's ONE sex you shouldn't spank it is a boy. They have more propensity for violence than women, perhaps for that very reason.
I honestly think it's equal. If you "spank" a girl you may just send her the message that this is what a man should be doing to you to show he is right and then they'll gravitate to those boys who got beaten and now have a higher propensity of violence to women.

Not blaming the victim but there are plenty women that think that's okay, some who provoke it cuz they think that's how it should be and then get abused and never speak up.

I feel like cuz it was straight up boxing with gloves (a real abusive parent wouldn't provide that) the boy had a chance.

Like I said before imagine if you watched this vid without the intro and outro explaining the fight. You'd think it was a big brother beating up his younger brother.

To me the only thing holding the boy back was fear that had he put in some work he'd get beaten even worse. The L was forthcoming either way.

I get what you're saying with him being 17. To me it matters more how it's doled out. If he was chasing him around the house with a belt whooping him I'd feel that's way more out of bounds and even emasculating but this is probably more reasonable if you're a parent that applies corporal punishment.
And we are supposed to believe that 17 year old shouldn't have hit back? (Not implying YOU said that)
He definitely should have but if anybody is saying or implying he shouldn't it's probably cuz they figured he was too scared or would've gotten beaten worse had he did.

When all my boys were out egging houses, stealing cars and doing all the dumb **** they were doing when we were teens I never involved myself in that ****. First thing that would come to my head was, my dad will beat my *** if he catch me doing some **** like that. We had the talks, the one on one's but my fear for them hands kept my **** all the way together. But he would never do no **** like in the video, no face shots or no bloody *** face. Actually he never even had to lay a finger on me. 2 of my cousins got caught selling weed back in the 90s and what he did to them never left my memory

That's fair, but MAYBE the reason why boys are more violent is potentiated by the fact that they get hit more. It's part of a long list of male socialization patterns that turns men into monsters.

But yes this affects girls and women in profound ways.
Maybe. Maybe it's a chicken and egg thing.

I know what you're talking about does happen. They get beat, build up anger, think violence is the way and then beat women but there's some dudes who just have severe anger problems due to other things and being beaten as a child or not doesn't factor in.

To me it depends on the reaction. Some boys get beaten and psychologically they're beaten down and don't really grow up to be as violent. The thought process being my dad was a violent abusive bastard and I'm going to be the exact opposite of him.

I saw this video posted on FB as well. In the comments, I saw a lot of, "Child shouldn't dare hit parent back comments." But this child is damn near grown man. This is essentially fighting someone off the damn street. It is disrespectful to hit back when someone is doing THAT to you?

At what point does that, "It is your parent" card fly out the window

I can get my *** wooped and the bruises will heal. Worst part for me would be the humiliation of him putting it up online and going to school the next day.

IMO the boy should've been hitting back instead of mostly standing there and being a punching bag specifically in this context. Hell the same for if it's real abuse and you got one of those parents that are beating you in all type of ways (leaving you with a swole face, hitting you with blunt objects, etc.).

This whole child shouldn't dare hit their parent thing don't apply here.

Your dad giving you a fair one, you act like you in the ring.

If you are gonna discipline a child like that using boxing, make him wear headgear and a mouthguard and dont be an idiot and post on social media. I guarantee charges are forthcoming.

Maybe part of the reason the child didn't do what he wanted to do is because of the 'it is my parent, I better not dare hit back forreal" logic?

Whooping back then was outta love nowadays they do it for likes.

Maybe. I think he was just scared and thought he'd get beat worse.

Could've been all a con and he let him beat up and started the water works so he could get it over with.

Meh there's no way to tell if whoopings are about love because evidence shows more times than not its about frustration.

From shaken baby syndrome to traumatic brain injuries.
U right, I can't dispute that. I can say, anytime my mom's put that belt on me I 100% deserved it. I was a bad *** kid.

#GaysLoveHarder

Type of statement there.

How on EARTH do you believe humans have evolved THAT much over the last 15 years?

We gotta stop putting our parents on these pedal stools man

Why do people still post videos of themselves beating their kids? You'd think they'd learn from all the other idiots who did it.
