Actually, gentrification has already started in Santurce a barrio of San Juan.


The U.S. government is going to make PR bleed until it votes for Statehood. Kicked the military out already, once they adopt Statehood they can implement bases on the Island again.


If you're going to PR, have a ball. If you stay to the coastal cities (San Juan, Rincon, Aguadilla, Cabo Rojo, Ponce), you dont have to worry about Zika. As far as crime is concerned, another thing that is overstated about PR. Majority of violent crime is due to drug violence. Stay away from the caserios and you good money.
 
how does PR owe a debt to the us and its apart of it

It's not that less. With the economy in the drain, on an island that's 100 miles long, 35 wide, the future is looking sadly grim.

Doesn't make any sense considering how close PR is to the states. Plus the amount of PR's in major cities that travel back and forth. If things keep going this way without a cure. NYC will get hit hard.

It's close to 600 cases in PR and the virus hasn't been in PR for even a year

If that was the case, it would have originated in the states in the warmer southern region. PR is predominantly descendants of white spaniards

Please stop famb. I grew up in the Caribbean, mosquitos spreading diseases like this have always been around forever.

When I was a kid Dengue fever. Couple years ago it was chikungunya. These things would have you ****** up for a couple weeks, and you would beat it, many people did die, but most of them were poor at didn't get adequate help soon enough.

Zika is just on a new level because of the birth defects it causes, if it wasn't for that, it would probably not be as scary as it is.
 
Dudes shouldn't spread false information.

Florida leads the country in HIV/AIDS and it's really with people who are middle aged, like 50 and over.

Don't think it's a conspiracy, it's more lack of education and health care cutbacks.

Florida has a lot of immigrants from the Caribbean who come from places with high HIV/AIDS rates.

Couple that with the fact Dade County is a vacation hot spot with beaches, bikinis, alcohol and drugs, and there you go.

I think the science illiterate take how many things that want to kill us on this planet for granted. Mosquitoes are the most dangerous animal on the planet. I've had malaria as a kid, it's not pretty. :lol:

It's not a game son, we are so privileged in this country that when people get sick we make up theories. That's not to say there haven't been abuses in the health industry but who the hell complains about not having polio and measles. :lol:

And then you have some nut w/ money on the other end trying so hard to create something just to have their names in the history books :smh: The evolution of disease wild, hell, even the common cold could do more harm than a runny nose and sneezing.

But then we also have to consider the things that we're putting into our bodies through food and other things like deodorant that isn't really supposed to be there messing up our internal chemical balance which opens back doors for these things to harm us

I know this because I go there frequently. Areas with poor sanitation and poor plumbing/drainage are the areas that are the reported cases on the island. The cities I mentioned are coastal and are the cities that frequented by tourists, mosquito repellent is easily accessible. Mainland US citizens are also up to date on vaccines which makes them less of a risk of being infected. Also, just like every other sexually transmitted virus, watch where you stick it.


You also have to understand that people from other Caribbean countries (much poorer as well) migrate to Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico has a vastly growing Dominican/Haitian population. Which means they could be bringing the virus over while being asymptomatic.


The dude that died in Puerto Rico the other day from Zika was 70 years old! People at this age and this frail die every day from a regular flu strain!


My wife and I hiked El Yunque, the Puerto Rican rainforest when the Chikigungya was at its peak.
