'Baby Boxes' new drop off spots for unwanted babies. SMFH

No it isn't. Giving your baby up if you are unfit to raise it is the most sane decision she has made, in the last ~9 months or so. It's just to prevent the few who are too scared or ashamed to take it to a hospital/church/fire department from throwing it in the dumpster because they didn't want to look anyone in the face and tell them they can't take care of it/don't want to and potentially be questioned/judged over it. We had, like twice that I can remember, where a girl had a baby in the Wal Mart bathroom and threw it in the trash once and another they find in their just on the floor. You'd rather either of these ended up in these anonymous boxes than either of those circumstances

Why did you ignore my "or" ?.
Being unfit would fall under environment.
Yes. I rather a female place it in the box than a dumpster.
If you can place the baby in a dumpster, you're head isn't on right. This isn't a rationale person.

So basically these drop boxes are to avoid being shamed for giving up your baby...

It doesn't get rid of the shame if they still have to walk around preggers for 9 months. It's only so long that most girls can hide that baby bump belly.

This is crazy, but what can you expect when we have all these stories of these various sloots having babies and either tossing them in the trash or leaving them in bathrooms or just flat out murdering them and tossing them out like you would a rat.

It's rough and i would never do it/let a girl i was involved with do it, but its better than the savages who leave babies in a field/dumpster.

At the same time, if you really arent able to care for a baby, you cant walk into a ER and hand them over no questions asked? The VHS return box comparison is scary accurate re: i dont have time to run inside...

I don't think this will solve the cause. I think teens are gonna be like "oops im pregnant, ima just drop it off after I give birth". this is gonna reduce the consequences.

Better than monsters who murder their child and go shoplifting for panties with da deadbody in their backpack da next day :smh:

Kinda weird it being like a return box and all , but it gives another safer option than ppl just throwing away kids anywhere

Wonder how the strong pro life conservative crowd feels about this

this doesn't really bother me, but I'm not sure if my opinion is valid since i do not have children...

I look at this more as a safer alternative for the baby then just leaving them in a dumpster or abandon building or something.

Now we all wish and hope a kid is born to parents who want them and can support them an all that, but that aint the case.

Seeing that ^ isnt the case, why not have an alternative to get the child a safe home and not neglected and/or dead.

not sure how folks can be against this.

I was there that day in Victoria Secret with my girl, I remember looking at her too :smh:

But the stench wasn't bad around me because I was in the perfume section, If im not mistaken, nothing happen to her, she was scott free.

On to the topic in hand, I like this idea but like someone said, its going to be those people that think its ok when they realize they made a mistake and just drop it off.

One thing that bottles me is how some woman are so easy to give up a child they carried for 9 months and even took prenatal care and etc. heartless IMO.

“She took a bag with her and a change of clothes and went into her friend’s bathroom and gave birth, ripping the cord with her bare hands,” the prosecutor said, adding that Rodriguez birthed a full-term, eight-pound baby boy.

“We know that she texted her boyfriend throughout the birth, ultimately telling him, ‘It’s dead,’” she said. “Then the two of them discussed via text getting rid of it. Smashing it up, so it didn’t look like a body. Burning it. Meeting up to bury it.”

But Rodriguez’s lawyer told a different story about a young girl who had a miscarriage, adding that she has always maintained that the baby was stillborn.

“This is not a case of murder,” her attorney, Earl Ward, said.

Heartless :smh: makes me sick that is a human, it didn't ask for life and so easy to throw it away and smash it up.

and for the laywer

HOW IS THAT NOT MURDER SWAY

IMO, when you have the ability to safely drop off a newborn without repercussions, the whole abortion debate goes out the window. Why end a life when you can surrender them and give them at least a chance at becoming a productive citizen instead of ending your family tree right there?

Just think where we'd be if JUST Steve Jobs had been aborted? Now multiply that by the 1 Million abortions each year and how much better our nation would be if just one of those made a significant difference to society?

And how many of these kids go into foster care and end up in a terrible childhood?
Abortion is better than sending kids off into a terrible household for the sole sake of "preserving life".

Assuming all foster parents are terrible.

Assuming all foster parents are terrible.
Never said all foster parents are terrible.
Some people are so obsessed with the thought of preserving life that they support babies being born into terrible households/lives.
I base my stance on abortion (legal, 12 weeks max termination period) on what I think would be best for the kids.
Would you rather have a child be born into a household of for example, poor heroin addicts, and have them go through a traumatic childhood than abort them before they're a conscious being?
What about parents who carry a serious debilitating genetic illness? Accidents happen. Would you rather have that baby be born with an illness that would ruin his/her life or abort it to spare it a life of agony?
I carry a relatively mild genetic disease and wouldn't want to pass it onto my children.

I can't see how anyone can be against this, reality is there's a lot of people that aren't ready to have kids and it's not changing anytime soon in the near future

This is nothing new, safe havens been around for decades.

Any time you see this sign you can drop off a child
