NT's Hottest MCs in the Game

Nobody is bumping Ye. He's not "hot" right now. He's more like a Jay Z, Eminem type of figure....that whenever they do drop...it's going to be big. But TLOP ain't enough to have YE in the "hottest" convo.

And Uzi is a bubbling niche artist right now. He doesn't have any songs, or anything that charted. Right now...guys like Travis Scott are way hotter than him. Kevin Gates, Yo Gotti, Young Dolph too.

Im just not understanding how you guys are forming these lists...if you're going by just radio play and whats "hot" I see why Drake and Future tops the list. But if lyrically ability and content is important those guys aren't even sniffing the top 5 honestly. I need a rubric for this lol.

It's called "hottest"....so yeah....the hottest rappers in the game today on a whole.

Dave East not even the best newer rapper in NY. Conway :nthat:

Once he get over more hype production & gets some bigger names around him. He gon get big

Conway is dope but I feel like East has more heat on him right now. Which is why I threw his name out there.

But for the record, I didn't expect either to make this "list".

If we doing strictly "hot"... then the last couple of lists seem accurate.

Drake is obviously one.... I would but Cole at two because Forbes just released the list a week a two ago and said that He made the most money as a rapper off just music!

Future, Kendrick follow and I actually think you have to give Kevin Gates a strong consideration for top 5. Chance the Rapper is right there too.

I dont think you close the list out with Big Sean,Fetty Wap or Travis Scott being above Kanye right now tho

I included the criteria in the op. I just took the same formula MTV used.

Lyrical ability and flow
Commercial success
Cultural impact
Social media following

On the show some people valued one category more than the other. It's up to you. Most the time the lyrical smearical crowd were out voted. Might be different on here.

But for me, Kanye has to be on the list. TLOP is solid and the hype behind it was crazy. Only one other rapper can currently generate that kind of hype. The bars were a little iffy on TLOP but he still deserves to be on the list.

Got me rethinking having Meek on there.
1. Drake
2. Future
3. J Cole
4. Kendrick Lamar
5. Big Sean
6. Fetty Wap
7. Young Thug
8. Yo Gotti
9. Travis Scott :pimp:
10. Kevin Gates

Where does G-Eazy fall on this list? Because he's one of the highest charting, highest selling rappers so far.

The average hip hop fan barely knows G-Eazy...or how big his records are right now....but the Top 40 crowd loves him.

I don't know anyone that listens to G-Eazy so he can go in the pop category. Along with Drake and Macklemore.

TLOP came and went quick as hellt. No one listening to that **** anymore besides the stans.

Then how is Nicki in there? No one but thots pay attention to her. Has she even released anything lately? Kanye had everyone talking when his album came out. Ppl still playing his stuff. He top 5 hottest regardless

And idk anyone who really listens to Dolph out here. They prob jus know him as that other guy on Cut It honestly. Gotti always gon remain somewhat relevant but he aint top 10 even with a fading recent hit

Cant argue against Gates cuz of his numbers. Travis is top 10 but borderline

How we call him the nicest mc when he raps 40% of the time? Over dudes that rap 100% of the time nah. Then of course the references as a part but I'm not even touching on that. I just can't say o him over then name a dude that strictly raps. Dave east cool but he got some ways to go, I'm rooting for son tho.

If Cam passes 40% and runs 60% of the time in a game is the qb he is playing against better because he attempted a pass every time he dropped back? Can't discredit his rapping because he also sings. Even if I did discredit him for singing the lowest he would fall for me is 4.

My ten names are

Future
Meek Mill
Kanye West
Kendrick Lamar
Young Thug
Drake
Desiigner
Kodak Black
J. Cole

Last spot would be between Travis Scott and Big Sean.

Again these ain't who I think are the ten nicest on the mic even though that does play a part.
Hmmmm so you got this dude as one of your favorite hot MCs in the game? This was probably one of the worst late night show performance I've ever seen...

Father Stretch My Hands gets played at parties around here still because of the Metro drop and because of Panda simoultaneously being a hit record.

Also Ultra Light Beam was Chance's coming out party to the mainstream, and on a mainstream rap level, probably verse of the year so far.

So those two records have staying power so far. Plus Ye been out here on his feature grind (VIEWS, Coloring Book, Acid Rap, French/Nas record). Also, supposedly dropping another album this summer. He deserves a spot on the bottom 5. He's not like Eminem or Hov in the sense that they've been gone for years. He's still out here.

As far as G-Eazy, I'mma keep it 100 and tell you that I've never seen anyone in real life listen to his music. He's hot in the pop lane but I really wouldn't say he's hot in the urban lane.

Also, Desiigner should be nowhere near this list, bruh literally  has one official song out.

I was about to say that it would be like Soulja Boy being on the list in 07 but even Soulja Boy had a back catalog of a few years when Crank That came out and he was actually legit hot, months before getting signed, among the teen demographic.

Crank dat batman :pimp:

Edit, that wasn't even SJ Beezy .

Throw some d's on that report card though

Nicki can drop a few features and another catchy single for these broads she'll be at the top the lists. If DC4 is good Meek will be back up there too.

Lol these ain't my favorite rappers, these the 10 hottest rappers. I can't **** with desiigner cause the biting is just too much. But Panda is the biggest song in the country so thought that should count for something.

Got me thinking bout dropping him for Gates tho. It is just one song whereas Gates has a catalog. Was at a Gates show and was shocked at the type of crowd he brings out.

Shout out Ye for the hype and Gates I don't see why people are much into this dude raps.

He came out of nowhere with his gangster raps after a few semi successful mixtape.

If there is one artist whose rise to fame I just don't understand...its Kevin gates. I don't get it at all. And I've tried several times.
