OFFICIAL 2016 @MiamiHEAT SEASON THREAD::::

I'll never give up on this team, no matter how bad some might think we will be. I'm still salty over signing Waiters though, **** that

Good thing heat has a lot of guards. Though none of them are as good as Richardson was after the All-Star break.

Final week before media day-training camp...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Chris Bosh, who has not been cleared, said this. For all the months spent preparing for this, I'd assume the FO tried the league's hand at this or will. Interesting

Really not that bad (I keep saying)

2 Years after Big 3, would've never guessed we could've had prospects like Winslow Whiteside TJ Richardson with Dragic and on decent contracts.

This. I'm ready to move on and see the start of the new Miami Heat era. I think the team is in good hands with Winslow, Richardson and company. I can't wait until the season begins. This team has the potential to be fun to watch like that 03-04 Heat teams that featured Caron Butler, pre-flash Wade, Lamar Odom, etc...

Can't say I will enjoy the losing that is inevitable with a young team, but I am excited to whittle our fan base down. Fake fans will jump ship and real fans will remain. Tickets will be cheap again!

I'm excited, we need to muddle through somebody to keep Briante tho.

Who do y'all have down as starting SG, PF?

I got

and

Tyler cause he's the best playmaker of the SG's and defender. Rich only a few points below him as a defender, but as the only 6'6 swing 2 we have, probably best if he plays the 3 off the bench part time anyway. bench 3's might be the weakest position off the bench and Rich can def create more opportunity's than disadvantages.

If we're going to run this season then Williams is the perfect fit at PF alongside our strongest front court defenders. Williams is a turnstile defensively but he has held his own around the perimeter and that's going to be big for fastbreak points( 32.6 DFG% from 15 ft out last year), as a 4th/5th option he's a great supplement to what they're trying to do

So Lebatard said he was done fighting. According to Bosh's videos from yesterday, he's not giving up. I also heard he fired his agent. Won't be surprised if Rich Paul enters the equation soon

Anyway, I think Johnson will start at SG because of Jrich's injury. I would've said the opposite if he was healthy.

PF is trickier. I'm also gonna go with Williams. He only shot 29% from 3 last year but I've seen players improve that once they've come down here.

This season is gonna be weird but I can't wait for it to start. Really need to see some development.

Quincy McCall Quincy McCall

My starting line-up is:

PG - Dragic
SG - Dion Waiters
SF - Justise Winslow
PF - Derrick Williams
C - Hassan Whiteside

Dion gets the slight edge over TJ just because he's a more seasoned pro, BUT I could see TJ starting just becasue he's been in the system longer. It really depends on what kind of camp each player has.

As for PF, I think Derrick Williams will be really good out there with Whiteside. But if Spo decides to go small Winslow can easily get that spot. It worked well in the playoffs.

I think the best thing about the roster is the versatility the Heat can potentially have. We can play fast and go small, but we can potentially be a good half court team as Whiteside grows into a scoring threat in the paint. We also have some decent shooters in Richardson, TJ, and Wayne Ellington to stretch the floor. Derrick Williams can also make an occasional 3-pointer as well. So we have decent pieces, its just a matter of whether the pieces will work together.

And for those hating on the Derrick Williams move, he's shown some flashes last season. Just saying...

Yea', I think we can be an underrated half-court team too. Don't have a definite 1st, second option per se but Dragic/Whiteside can play a dangerous 2-man game with more reps in the PnR. They had the best chem of all our starters last season (Both natural/positive). Alotta people are trying to count them out but they were fringe All-stars as relative 3rd/4th options. Questions surrounding them are legit but maybe overstated. I want to see this for a majority of the halfcourt offense

Just want the other guys to run-n-gun for the most part. Guys who can make a some-what decent shot for themselves is ideal for the starting unit as well and D-Will, Winslow, TJ and Dion fit that mold the best but Dion is crazy inefficient and inconsistent with his defense. I would guess he was signed as a hopeful staple on the bench to help mold a defensive mind with Briante, Rich, Reed and whoever the 4 off the bench could be (I would go with James Johnson for defense)

TJ's been playing mostly SG for us and I don't exactly like him playing the position 100% of the time because he's undersized but eff it, we need him there now. If JJ Redick can play it full time then without a doubt he's capable

I think Dion will be better suited as a 6th man so he can chuck all he wants. Put him in with the first unit and he's going to take valuable possessions away from guys who are more efficient. I think Whiteside is going to put up monster numbers this year between running the pnr with Dragic and having all these guys chucking up shots (and missing) for him to clean up with offensive boards and put backs

Rebounding could def be a plus for us too with the addition of Weber, Williams and Reed. Despite having Whiteside, we were among the league's worst rebounding teams which took us out of some close games. If we can defend and rebound then we can be competitive enough to keep up with our offense imo which wasn't really impressive nor structured last year at 100 ppg fwiw

Love how much the new guys have took to the culture

Defense/Offense won't matter as long as he commits to rebounding

And IF Bri (Seeing that his contract becomes guarantee'd) can make good decisions in transition all year like he showed in this game, then he's in the right place

Pat Riley: Chris Bosh's Career With Heat 'Probably Over'

Pat Riley believes Chris Bosh's latest health setback has apparently convinced the Miami Heat that a return from multiple bouts of blood clots is no longer feasible.

Riley told reporters Monday that Bosh's "Heat career is probably over" and that the team is not actively working toward his return.

"There is not a next step for us," Riley said. "It's pretty definitive for us in our position."

Riley was asked if Bosh's career in the NBA is over.

"That's up to him," replied Riley.

The Heat declined to explain why Bosh failed the physical and cited a clause in the collective bargaining agreement that prohibits the team from releasing certain medical information.
