— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) May 18, 2016

— Manny Navarro (@Manny_Navarro) May 18, 2016

— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) May 18, 2016

— Ethan J. Skolnick (@EthanJSkolnick) May 18, 2016
Riley says the downhill concept of guards getting to the rim in the league right now "has to be dealt with."

(Psst. He means you, Hassan.)
— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) May 18, 2016

On Dragic
Riley says Heat will send staff to Europe to work with Goran Dragic this summer.
— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) May 18, 2016
Riley said Dragic has room to improve. "He has to be able to create and score when there's no space."
— Manny Navarro (@Manny_Navarro) May 18, 2016

I also want to note that Riley felt Spo did a good job utilizing personnel this season and said Spo is going to have more say about personnel moving forward. He also doesn't buy into the small ball and when asked about getting more 3 point shooters, he pushed it off and mentioned how he wants more guys who can take a charge.

For guys like McRoberts who he praised, he basically is building up their trade value. He's not going to throw guys under the bus when he can still get something of value for them. Also there was not mention of Joe Johnson at all. So he's probably not in the plans moving forward.

I think next year with improvement Josh and Winslow should be starting. Josh can play the 3 he's long enough and plays good D. Wade dragic Josh Winslow and bosh. This is all of course if we don't resign whiteside and bosh returns. If we resign whiteside and bosh returns we can play big and small. Wade dragic Winslow bosh whiteside. With TJ and Josh coming off the bench for the guards. Maybe mcbob can find his shot in the off season and not get hurt during the regular.
Teams spearheaded by LeBron have won the Eastern conference for the past 5, going on 6 years.

It'd be nonsensical to put a 200 pound guy at the 3.

Rich can & will absolutely put on some muscle, no doubt about that. But not nearly enough to handle him.

I love Rich going forward. I'm REALLY high on him. Just not in that slot.

It wouldn't make sense to set a lineup for the entire season that wouldn't work against the one team you need to beat to get out of the conference.

Winslow would probably guard Bron if we matched-up, not perfect considering the mismatches Rich would have to put on but still one of our better line-ups/ options

That's my point. Youre saying to start Rich at the 3 alongside Dragic & Wade. That trio playing starters mins every night & then switch course when you see LeBron & play a lineup that had less court time together?

Why not just start from day 1 with a lineup that works against Bron?

No, not change the line-ups. Just have Winslow guard Bron and Rich guard Winslows man and have help come from the post

Not perfect but every team is going to get a match-up that's not ideal. Dude that's guarding Bron now is 212, maybe 212+... more team defense or fail sometimes

So who's boxing out Love & TT? Or is one of Dragic & Wade on the bench?

Anyone in the front court of Richardson/Winslow/Whiteside hopefully?

Cn't think of any other better rebounders on the team if Deng/Amar'e are in their own pudding

i dont buy half the stuff pat is saying. but i do like that we made whiteside priority #1. wade shooting better cuz of spos program? nonsensical. deng was a corner 3 shooter before he got here, and his numbers have gone down lately as far as shooting goes. i know nothing about webber. is he nice? nice things to say about mcroberts? lol. i wonder what haslem will do. i LOVE him, and the history is obvious. but does he still want to play? he already gets limited minutes. if he wants a position on staff its obviously waiting on him. fizdale needs a promotion *cough*
Bruh, I know you ain't like Spo, but you're really gonna say his shooting program doesn't help?

Wade was working on that jump shots specifically with Spo when he was an assistant.

"One of Spo's notable accomplishments as an assistant coach came in the summer of 2004 where he was credited for the improvement of Wade's jump shot."

http://www.hothothoops.com/2014/11/1/7142695/miami-heat-head-coach-erik-spoelstra-turns-44-birthday

"When Wade comes to the Heat as a rookie in 2003, his jump shot still needs some refinement, and Spoelstra takes on that challenge as a project.

"We worked a lot of hours," Wade says. "You saw that he knew the game of basketball. You knew he was a hard worker. He gave me the confidence to think, 'I can do it.'

Spoelstra works Wade out incessantly. He wants Wade to establish more balance on his shot and to learn to absorb contact."

http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miamiheat/columns/story?page=Spoelstra-110601

There's also this shooting stuff with Josh Richardson

http://heatzone.blog.palmbeachpost....chardsons-turning-point-as-a-3-point-shooter/

Now, you can dislike Spo all you want, but you really can't say his shooting program does nothing. Both Wade and Richardson credit Spo.

That was 12 years ago. Wade suddenly being a dangerous 3pt shooter in the series has nothing to do with spo. Cuz if it was spo, why was he 7 of 44 in the season? Suddenly he's the best 3pt shooter on the team and spo did it? Nope. Wade got out of his own way. And now he believes he can do it and will focus on it this summer.

You know who IS in the trenches working on people's shot? Fizdale. Fizdale needs a promotion. They're protecting their coach, and they should. But if you listen to what's being said compared to the last 7 months... you'll see through that.

You believe, what you believe. I'm gonna believe the actual proof that's been stated by the players. Like Richardson, which is something that happened this season. It's all good though. Don't want to clog it up with more Spo talk.

Onto the next topic:

I agree with Fizdale. Been saying for years to my boy that he needs to be a Head Coach. Always getting passed up. But they aren't protecting him.

In fact, Spo was helping him prepare for a final interview with Memphis.

I just think Fizdale hasn't had that chance cause he was one of the most underrated coaches and never really seemed to interview. Glad he's getting that chance.

word of mouth can't be called the truth compared to the previous 96 games that just happened. You believing word of both when Riley just praised McRoberts lol.

But i digress. I've wanted fizdale to be our head coach since 2013. He does so much for us behind the scenes

in other news, lebatard just released a statement that the heat have shifted priority #1 to signing durant. i ******* hate this dude man. always trying to churn the rumor mill for us. the durant talk had finally quieted down, now this...

I cant believe Draymond didn't get suspended for that kick.

I think it was 3 years ago when Wade very slightly raised his leg against someone on the Bobcats and hit the guys groin area. Fast forward to to yesterday Draymond tried to kick Adams nuts off his body and doesn't get suspended??

Onething I didn't like about the big 3 era was the overreacting to everything we did. It was insane!!! Glad to see the double standard and inconsistency of the NBA still lives :smh:

Apparently Memphis really likes Fizdale...
mean.gif
say it aint so. if he leaves who takes his place? dude is the backbone in our training for the players...

He's gone now :smh:

@ESPNSteinLine: Heat assistant David Fizdale, identified Tuesday by @espn as top candidate for the Grizzlies' job, has been offered the job per @TheVertical

@ESPNSteinLine: : Sources say Fizdale's sitdown with Griz owner Robert Pera in San Jose -- Pera has rarely been seen in Memphis all season -- clinched the job

No idea who's gonna replace him but that's a big loss. I'm happy for him personally since it's well deserved but man I saw/wanted him coaching the squad after Spo :\

ohwell.gif
100%. and by after spo i meant get him up outta here, yesterday. fiz (as i know u know) was the one behind the scenes in the trenches with the players in practice. dude is instrumental in our player development, and from my understanding was the one running practice the overwhelming majority of the time. how are we gonna replace him?
