Of course it is. First of all It's your money we are talking about, and I can't speak for anyone else, but I tip handsomely most of the time. You not just going to get paid because I sat down.

I have only walked out once, and it was actively bad, in other words. They were going out of their way to give bad service.

It was an Asian spot, middle-high end. We talking about a 60 70 dollar bill for me and my girl. The service was terrible, I'm talking 20 minutes before we saw a server. When inquiring about the menu, she kept saying stuff was sold out but offering no alternatives. Essentially she wasn't even faking it. My girl does not bite her tongue and told her what was up haha. New server comes over terrified, takes over for our original waiter. Food was subpar at best. And they had the audacity to charge 15$ for a mojito! A Mojito my *****?

I dipped out first, My girl dipped shortly after.

Never walked out after being served and eating, but have just got up and walked out after sitting for 5min and not being greeted by a server.

Only if the service is bad. Like, you waited 45 minutes for the server and then another hour for the food, without being checked on, type bad service.

OP example is some **** a scorn woman type ****. Lady prolly cocked an attitude because its said white mean in the menu.

But I was about to walk out Teddy and the Bully Bar. Dude was horrible at happy hour while me and my girl was there. We only had one drink in 45 minutes of being there, food was not what we ordered, we were heated. We are here to drink and tip.

But brunch was on point another time I went before that day.

Never change DC...

On topic, nah I wouldn't but I've been tempted. As a young black couple, you get so-so service at time but trust when we get treated good we take care of them. If service is trash, I get management involved and won't return.

A similar scumbag move I've made was not picking up something I ordered over the phone. :smh: Felt bad the entire night.

Never up and left, but have told them I'm not paying for this and then walked out.

Yeah it's a shame getting bad service at a place with good food and you frequent.

Remember the time we waited 30 min at that one spot near me and when we asked what was going on the chick told us some BS lie instead of telling us she lost our order. Asked her for that mac and cheese while we waited another 15 min to get our original order. She gave us a Dixie cup sized portion to split. The audacity. When we finally paid the manager offered us a discount of $1.XX :x That was insulting. Yeah we should've just walked out...but that food did end up being good. The service :smh:

I've did that a lot of times, especially when when I read Yelp AFTER ordering.

This is just petty.

Anyways...I always laugh at the Yelp reviews from people stating things like "we waited 90 minutes for our food!" Why do that to yourself?

A lot of things can be settled by having a conversation with the manager. If you're still unhappy following that discussion, just leave. Simple as that.

Went to papasittos the udder day, group of 6, orderes our food and 45 min later we had to ask what the deal was. Was gettin ready to dip but the manager came out sayim they extremely short handed so i was like thats understandable, food came out 10 min later, wromg, dude came back out offered free dessert. Dessert. I said mah just bring the check, brought the check and didnt charge us for anything and left a gift card for the value of what we would have spent .

I honestly think a lot of people mistake servers for being rude at Asian restaurants when they aren't. Not even Asian spots exclusively, any ethnic spot where they are speaking their language in their and many of their customers speak the same language. Many of them don't have English as their first language so they may not understand you well, you may not understand them well, and even if there is understanding they may seem disinterested/dismissive/rude because of their lack of fluency in English. Y'all should really just try to be patient with them. Many times they are having just as difficult a time dealing with you as you are with them.

Think about it, when we say things like, "nah I'm good", or, "that's ok don't worry about it", we understand what we're saying to eachother. When you say something like that to a FOB Chinese person it doesn't translate. If someone is struggling to speak English to me, I keep my replies as slow and simple as possible. I've seen a lot of people turn ratchet on Asian servers and they don't even understand why they are being yelled at.

In reality tho, why not speak to the manager?

1.) Free food
2.) Better service since you already complained
3.) Free food.

They want you coming back, any reputable restaurant is going to make things right.

so the food was good enough to eat but not good enough to pay for?
