The response by the state troopers when it's one of their own.

why these dudes never film till the resolution of the situation....is like watching a movie without an ending...so frustrating...wanted that dumb cop to be sent on his way and the homie to be let go while everyone laughed the clown off

Off duty is just a phrase if your allowed to do ish like that to someone and not even give a name or ID or badge, whatever.

So the cop did all that for what? The guy tapped his window with the umbrella, so what. What is he calling back up for?

Still doesn't make any sense...Because he is a cop he gets to chase people down and rough them up, then say you are under arrest? Under arrest for what exactly? Makes no damn sense.

I was expecting to see broken glass or something. This dude in his feelings because he didn't give the pedestrian the right of way, and he got his window tapped. These dudes are such pu$$ies, makes me sick how they use that badge to take advantage of everyone.

thug had a weapon

those glasses at the right angle on a hot day could have burned him

he got what was coming

Probably felt some type of way about being "disrespected" in his mind.

The US police system's lack of accountability and repercussions breed an above the law mentality. From my point of view it seems like you can do pretty much anything as a cop and get away with it in the US.

Cop did nothing wrong IMO. Dude with the glasses clearly assaulted the police officer's car and the officer had every right to defend himself. BLUE LIVES MATTER.

I hope people recognize the sarcasm in my post. I'm sick of this mess. We never hold these cops accountable

Not saying the off duty cop is right but people need to learn how to cross around Boylston St. It's frustrating when pedestrians start crossing like they're in crossy roads game.

Agreed. That part of town has always been a mess with pedestrian traffic (tourists especially) but that off-duty cop acted like an absolute moron.

You could tell once he realized he was being filmed that there was no turning back. It seems like he knew he ****** up but wasn't backing down.

I'd love to know how the conversations went with the other cops once they realized there was nothing wrong with his window.

Like others posted- these guys need to be held accountable. Off-duty cops shouldn't be running around enforcing the law like maniacs. Dude couldn't even show ID, let alone proof he was a cop.

It's scary out there. Around my way, clubs and other events hire off duty sheriff and cops to act as security. But these guys aren't in uniform and tend to entice others so that they can call backup and arrest people. True bully status.

I hate driving in Boston, actually any city

Self entitled cops off duty cops
