What's the most broke you've ever been?

I've been more broke in the past but for the last few months, i've been seeing $0.01 in my bank account way too often. It's a combination of not having a stable job, life situations and some bad luck. Recently been going out with my girl, sneaking into costco and doubling up on those samples. Making sure I get those BOGOs on eggs and making hard boiled eggs for our picnic dates

and taking her to the hotels at Disneyworld and hotel hopping at those pools.

However, this is the first time in my life where I realized that having money doesn't mean you'll be the happiest and being broke doesn't always equate to depression as long as you are surrounded with the right people.

I'm extremely motivated to get out of this hole but i'm also very happy and thankful for everything.

How broke have you been and what are some things you did to get by but also stay happy?

my sister said she would give me a ride to the mall so I could return the obsidian 12's that I couldn't resell. She said I had to buy her a cinnabun. After returning them, I got declined for a cinnabon classic :smh:

When I was in college..or actually when I got kicked out. Was on negative dollars..couldn't even take my girl at the time out to eat. I never told anyone in my family and I also got my financial aid cut and still paid the rent. Luckily I got to keep my school job, but found other ways to hustle like fix computers and sell random stuff. I eventually got back into school within the next year and graduated. Found a full time two weeks after and got up and went back home.

It was terrible time in my life and I always think back to that when I'm feeling down, cuz I haven't been down that hole since and I pray I won't ever fall back. I'm thankful for everyone that stuck with me through all that. You really don't know someone until you seen them hit rock bottom..

Life's been good to me these days anyway :pimp:

Had to buy tacos from the taco truck in nickels dimes and pennys. Im talkin dolla tacos and still didnt have enough for 3.

Even had to pull that ski mask and a baseball bat out just for some gas food and a lil somethin on the rent.

I remember stealin Vienna sausage and tortillas and slicin em up into a tortilla and frying them.

Tryna come up wit stupid reasons on why i couldnt take my girl on a date i told her i was gona take her on cuz i only had 4$ left and no gas.

After my first stint in college back in '01. I had just graduated and it took a while to find a job in my field. Paying back school loans, car payment, etc...really took a toll. Only thing that saved me was my part time job at a restaurant that I was still working at. Free food. But man, it was tough! Lasted about 1 year before I was able to dig myself out of that hole.

op you in the orlando area ? i  just hit my rock bottom three weeks ago (it couldve been much worse , luckily life works mysteriously for me , ended up with a better job)  lost my job in miami , had to give up my M3 , and moved to clermont which is like 30 minutes west of orlando .

i ask cause i saw you mention disney world. I luckily found a job through IG believe it or not....im now a non emergency medical transporter , im able to take the truck home so i have that as transportation as well

I will say this. At the point in my life where I had the most money I ever had I wasn't the happiest I ever been. At that point I realized I don't have to chase being rich to be happy, money is great, but it ain't everything. Alot of people I know will never be happy because they are still chasing being rich to be happy when that might not be what really makes them happy.

I survived on a ten pound bag of rice for 2 weeks. I've done this several times last year. Going thru depression is a *****.

Damn the beamer gone fam? U should've pawned the jewels mane.

I've been broke to the point I had to pawn things to buy gas for my commute to college. I also used to hit up an ATM that dispensed $5 denominations and take out $5 at a time.

Currently about $200,000 in debt..so now.

What the hell man? You go to med school?

Brokest I've been was in the beginning of 2014. Parents cut me off and my financial aid was taken away from me due to some academic problems. I had no job at the time and was a full time student. Didn't help that I got a few parking tickets during that time :smh:

I ended up doing things like taking phones my friends stole, unlocking them and selling them on CL as well as selling my own plasma to pay the tickets off and keep some gas in my tank. Thankfully I've put that time behind me

Probably my last semester of college in 2010. Pretty sure I had 27 cents on my debit card and was getting about 1/3 aid I was originally getting to pay for school since I had lost my scholarship 2 years prior. So glad that's not an issue anymore
