But we can't keep using the government/police excuse.
sounds like people without hope. sounds like a population largely ignored by its government. sounds like the result of racial persecution and segregation, and poverty.
and it sounds like **** won't change until we as a society can come together and fix the real problems at hand, and treat one another as a fellow human being, and have the gov't enact policies that affect positive and progressive change for everyone within these borders. everyone.
....but that sounds like wishful thinking no? :\
Wishful thinking. Our culture generally puts more stock in economic and material wealth than in our people, communities, and relationships with one another. It's pathetic really.
You realize that conservatives use Chicago as the poster-child for the futility of gun control, right?and im right there with you. when it comes to violence in the community it comes down the people. the choice to pick up a gun and let it fly, or to the choice to just chill and be cool. the access to guns is all gov't...they want guns in the streets...
But we can't keep using the government/police excuse.
Yes it does and I'm a OIF/OEF vet.Iraq doesn't sound like that....stop
As a current Airmen in the USAF, I can honestly say im more scared of Chicago than deploying overseas.
As long you don't go out to the West Side or the Hundreds, you'll be alright.Such a beautiful city with so much potential. Ive always wanted to visit Chicago and knowing what I know, I actually decided to buy tickets for my girl and I to visit in April. Im going with a semi scared mentality but again, im sure it has much to offer and great scenery plus food. Based on the statistics, i would def. Declare Marshall Law in Chicago and have it cleaned up. As a current Airmen in the USAF, I can honestly say im more scared of Chicago than deploying overseas.

I wish the mainstream media would have "breaking news" and cover every one of these murders extensively like they do when there is a mass shooting.
