Gorilla shot after 4yr old falls in enclosure VOL.....RIP HARAMBE

The gorilla took a nurturing approach if you check the video out. Recognized the 4 year old wasn't a risk to him/her at all.

So where were the parents to supervise their kid?

Also:
"The child was not under attack but all sorts of things could happen," Thane said. "He certainly was at risk."

Thane said zoo officials decided against shooting Harambe with a tranquilizer because the drug takes effect too slowly.

"You don't hit him and he falls over," Thane said. "It takes a few minutes."

Came across this small clip on twitter where the gorilla drags the kid across the water tho

Not saying the gorilla deserved to be shot, this was in my opinion ultimately the parent's fault

Can't take a chance to wait for the Gorilla to get mad, gotta take the shot. Stupid parents.

Oh I saw that part too. But right before you see the gorilla just holding hands with the kid.

And in the video you hear a woman say "We're here and love you" :rolleyes do a better job watching your kid next time.

So she turned around for a second and little billy turned into Diego the Explorer?

Haven't been to a zoo in years but this has happened a lot

Remember the man and the lion

It was the woman's fault for not watching the child but in the CNN video.. the reporter said that the four years old was eager to get inside the encloser..

*random*

Do you think the child was influence by the live action film, the jungle book. Maybe the child saw commercials or the actual movie and thought it will be cool to interact with the gorilla?

If anything a grown *** man jumping in there looking confrontational is just gonna make him scared and he's gonna make human berry pancakes of both you and your son.

When he was dragging the little kid I was cringing. He could tap that kid and break his neck.

It's sad the gorilla had to die but a human > an animal every time. CPS should do something to the parents...

Eh I mean there's no way that anything should be getting into that gorilla enclosure. So for that, I put it on the zoo. Parents lose sight of kids all the time. I'm not going to destroy the mom because this time it just happened to turn out worse than normal

Like I've walked away from my parents when I was at the zoo. I don't think protective services needed to be called. That's just over reacting. Something bad happened sure, but kids scurry off. It happens

Also I could care less of the gorilla got shot. Human life is more important

You might as well close zoos then. Or keep all gorillas behind glass, which isn't a bad idea.

If you can see the gorillas without a glass then there is always gonna be a way for a human to get in there.

I thought most zoos did have gorillas behind glass.bat least the zoos I've went to had gorillas behind glass. Why in the world would there be an open exhibit( without nets and stuff)

Based on reading accounts of other people who were there, the parents (or parent) straight up weren't paying attention and their kid just stumbled in there. Dumbness. You can tell the gorilla realized it was a kid, but the gorilla's pure strength plus that being a little kid made it look real bad. Not really sure what else could've been done (maybe tranquilizers??), but sooner or later it's possible the gorilla could've reacted like it was threatened and killed the kid, who knows.

Tranquilizers take too long. There was another story about a man who tried to commit suicide by jumping into a lions den at a zoo. The tranquilizer a they had would've taken too long so they ended up killing the lions. Guy still got mauled though

I mean the joint in OP looks like it's a deep river with gorillas in it that people look down into.

I ain't been to the zoo since I can even remember so idk how they got it set up.

Gorilla killed in it's own exhibit because of negligence by two parents. SMH.

Wait... who the **** was saying "Isaiah be calm, be calm"?

How do you even watch you kid going through that? My *** would've been down there as well.

Did they have to shoot the Gorilla? Couldn't hit him with the tranq?[/video]

Cats is wild harsh on the parents.
Not tryna justify their actions but very little info is known to try to put their head on a spike.
