Hosting a Party?

Sounds like this friend already his inconsiderate tendencies. I think you are probably growing up and it's time to put that friend on waivers.

I wouldn't get offended. I feel like if your hosting a party you should be at the party the entire time. Maybe he doesn't want to leave everything unattended. You can say no. Sometimes before I head out to a party I ask if they need anything. Maybe they ran out of ice? Who knows.

Whenever I hit up a house party (for someone I actually know) then I'm bringing either chips/dip or a 12-18 pack of beer

I wouldn't trust anybody to do the same for me which is why I don't host any parties

As a host, you shouldn't request certain things from your guests.

If you're going to someone's party, always bring something (6-pack, bottle of wine, Popeyes spicy chicken strips, etc.).

All this, where I'm from you definitely don't ask guests to bring anything unless it is an ice chest or extra chairs

To avoid this I just say that I'm co-hosting the party at my place with my friends. I provide the space, they provide food/alcohol/etc and we all clean up after. We don't ask people for stuff but if someone offers we most likely just reup on ice.

What kind of party we talking where you're bringing Popeye's chicken?

Reminds me of that McDonald's commercial when I dude hosts a party with a platter of double cheeseburgers.

I'd be pretty pissed if I hosted a party and someone brought fast food

I'd be happy to see some fastfood than no food. Too many times I go to hang and drink with people and there's not any food.

If it's a potluck.

However, it's pretty much common courtesy to bring something to the party if you're a guest. Something small. Bottle of wine, bottle of liquor, etc.

Yall wont appreciate a bucket of KFC or even nuggets to a bbq/party? Get the hell out. That would probably be the first thing finished.

From my personal experience, I have crashed so many people's cookouts via facebook, that I don't know, I won't get offended when someone asks me to bring something.

I just think about all the free food I have gotten on other people's dime, so how can I complain?

Maybe #CulturalDifferences.

Popeyes at cookouts is a common thing where I usually go. Weird to see this isn't common place

Slid through with a Crave Case from WC's to a party once. It was a hit

Back in college crave cases were the food of choice when we were drinking at someone's house.

my boys throws the best bbq/parties when it comes to food

homie brings out all the stops unlimited organic fresh chicken ribs bugers etc and drinks

but as a common courtesy i always bring a dessert like pies, cookies, etc even though its never required or expected

Unless the host asked me for something specific, im not gonna bring main courses, ice, utensils etc. Its gonna be desserts and/or alcohol. Thats the common thing. Everything else is type weird.

So it's just a coincidence that they're the first things to go when I bring them? Biscuits and cajun fries are the next to go.

Don't get me started on Chic Fil A nugget tray with many of the sauces. I show up always with a variation with 12-pack of Blue Moon, etc.
