Any Top 15 player of all time is a champion whether or not they win a ring.

Meaning I am not blaming them if their teams don't get a ring, I am not blaming them

Like yall do with LeBron

I cant believe I am defending LeBron, but you are just being ridiculous now.  LeBron is a top 10 player in the history of the game (some say top 3 or 5), and you are making it seem like he is JAG along for the ride.

Superstars are held to a higher standard than role players.  Superstars can dominate a game/series and win it for his team.  Someone who is as transcendent a talent as LeBron is will always be given credit for wins and blamed for losses.

LeBrons TEAMS have been good enough to make the finals for 6 straight years.  Jesus, can we diminish the man's talents any more?
Dude, you do understand that I am defending LeBron right?

So if LeBron practically plays the WHOLE game in the finals.

And his team lost 4-2.

Why are you bringing up his +/- as if this is new material?

not bringing it up as new material Im just seeing posts touting what he did last year and I added to the same conversation as to read his entire stat-line, not just those glorifying his points rebounds and assists. Did i do something wrong?

And my point is this isn't how things should be.

This is just the story the media draws up and civilians eat it up as if it actually makes sense.

TEAMS win games. Not one player.

Sure in basketball one player might be able to have greater influence on the offensive end, but the WHOLE team needs to get it done on both ends.

Bringing up Plus/Minus for a player that plays heavy minutes for a team that loses a series just doesn't make any sense. Like, what is the point in that

champion without the ring? wait..what?

lmaooooo you're funny DC. Tell that to somebody that won. Ask someone that lost what it feels like to be champ.

Get the excuses on deck!

 at people still saying "having irving and Love out" is an excuse.

Anyway, if both teams are healthy there are NO excuses.

However, i can definitely hear the "reasonings" for both sides. If the Cavs win, it'll be "well Cleveland had SOOO much rest and had to go through no competition in that weak east so they were way more fresh than the Warriors who came off of a Game 7." When the Warriors win, it'll be "the Cavs lost to the best team in NBA history...what did you expect, etc"

Steph isnt healthy tho. He still dropped 31 and 36 in 2 elimination games lol.

You are and you arent.  You are completely discounting a player's success and failures by hiding behind the "its a team game" excuse.  Granted, I rarely hear people use said excuse for winning like you are.  But the bottom line is you are completely dismissing a superstar's impact on whether his team wins or loses a championship.

Stockton

Malone

Barkley

Ewing

Do you honestly look at them any differently because they weren't on championship teams?

I am simply saying a TEAM has to click for a TEAM to win a championship.

Why do you you keep calling, "It is a team game" an excuse when that is what it is?

I am NOT dismissing a superstar's influence. Not at all. Superstars have a great amount of influence on a team's success.

I am simply saying that no matter how great a suprstar plays, if the rest of those dudes don't step up, the TEAM isn't winning.

Hence me saying, IT IS A TEAM SPORT

plus and minus shows the quality and contribution to the team. He is actually one of the leaders in the NBA with a constant plus of about 9. Although in that series he was a minus. Just me bringing up what i felt was a relevant point if you dont like it then okay you can move on and say that guy is crazy and keep posting about other things.

Pssst...if they are playing and aren't limping, etc they are healthy. Dudes still in here making that corny excuse cause he had bad games. No, he just had bad games...it happens but dude definitely wasn't injured.

But if the TEAM lost, why are you bringing up Plus/Minus.

Why wouldn't LeBron's plus/minus in that series be negative if his team got the breaks beat off of them?

That doesn't mean HE didn't come to play

I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs look drastically different next year. The East only had one elite team this year but they've gotta know that defensively, you're not going to survive depending on Kyrie, Love, JR and Lebron after 6 straight Finals appearances. I wouldn't trust that squad against any of the top 4 teams in the West. The Spurs maybe since they're more of a defensive team.

If Cleveland is really championship or bust, how do you expect to stop any elite offense when they can PNR Kyrie and Love to death? When JR has to defend the best perimeter player? (He tries hard but come on)

We do. We dont hold them to that standard of what we hold magic mike and bird too. Although on the flip side i dont even give Horry any credit for his rings lol.

Thank you.  Like I have been saying...its the least team sport of all the team sports and can be dominated by individual players more than any other sport.
And when did I disagree with this point? Are you purposely not reading?

Yes, it can be influenced more heavily by one player but we are still talking about INFLUENCE.

Meaning the other parts still need to do their jobs

Which goes back to the point of, it is a TEAM sport.

So one man shouldn't be getting the BLAME or the CREDIT.
