He was so damn skilled

I think he was the most skilled center in history when you take in all facets of his game.

I mean he got a quadruple double in a professional basketball game, I don't even know man.

His moves were second to none, most fluid big man to ever play the game.

This guy was a soccer player and basically built his whole game off of that, he moved like a dancer with the power of a lion.

He made the best defender at his position of the time besides himself look like a D-League player. (David Robinson also very underrated)

His defense was also just as impressive as his offense, he had no holes at all in his game.

I just hope Karl Anthony Towns is watching his tape because he can be 2.0 and I'm sure he is because the kid is dedicated.

And he was "undersized" for the C in his era 6-10 was his true height

Yet he is the first pick of a redraft?

*scratches head*

Yea, I would still start with him if I'm building a team.

You're not going to get a more athletic combination of rim protection and scoring on the inside besides maybe Wilt but Hakeem was more skilled than Wilt.

Doesn't mean I don't think MJ is still the best.

Prime Shaq was in Orlando he was in the best shape, most athletic point in his career and he still could not touch a 32 year old Hakeem

Shaq with all the added weight  would have looked even worse in LA going against that same Hakeem

EDIT: PER 100 possessions

gahhh damn...just checked shaq stats...he averaged at least...bare minimum...30 pts...for 15 yrs straight....between the years 1992-2007.

averaged 40 twice.
averaged 39 twice.
averaged 38 three times.

good lord.

Um....you sure you are looking at the right stats sir?

Shaq was quicker and had more bounce in Orlando. But LA Shaq was filth because he wasn't just a monster, but a monster with great post moves. I think his fundamentals in the post might get overlooked sometimes because we assume he just overpowered people. But yeah, he did both in LA.

When he leaned all 300+ pounds back into you and used his weight to roll off and spin baseline. You were done.
