We'll see how it plays out starting tomorrow, but I just don't think the Cavs can present the matchup nightmares that OKC did in order to really threaten the Warriors. They don't have those lengthy defenders that can cause havoc and get the Warriors to turn it over. Cavs would be better served not going small and going with something like they did for last year's Finals if they want to make this series more interesting in my opinion. They won't be able to beat the Warriors by playing into the Warriors' biggest strengths.

How are their roles different? Basically the same except Love is worse in that role. Cleveland would be terrifying with Dray instead of Love. GS gets much worse with Love instead of Dray.
Draymond initiates offense for GSW. Plays alot around the high post area, making plays for everyone.

Kevin Love doesn't do that at all.

They aren't being asked to do the same.

Both are asked to make spot up jumpers at times, sure. Outside of that, offensively, they have different roles.

Draymond wouldn't be as effective if he was a Cav when compared to what he does with GSW

Their roles are drastically different. One is asked to a lot more.

Tbh Lebron and Draymond have more of the same roles / responsibilities than K Love and Draymond.

Man Draymond Green is my most hated player in sports right now. I think he's one of the dirtiest players I've ever seen.

That being said he's almost the most valuable player on GSW. The amount of shots created for curry and Klay because of him is astounding. Without him they don't sniff 73 games and they are a second round team at best. His biggest attribute is his passing. Since he knows he's a bad shooter he's always looking to pass first and sucks up a lot of defenders while dumping off the ball. Then when he does pass the ball he always give it to his man right where he needs it. That's almost more important than the pass itself because if you give someone the ball where they are incredibly comfortable shooting it they won't hesitate and get that shot off in rhythm. Way more important. That's also one of Lebrons biggest strengths too.

I've always said if you erase Draymond in a series you will win it because his confidence will go down and then the ancillary players that live off his passing will disappear. Klay and curry can't average 50 each for a series. To me that's the key to beating GSW.

And yes Kevin Love is better than Draymond because you can put Kevin Love on any team and he gives you the same level of offense and defense. Draymond is a product of that system. On any other team his stats go way down. His intensity and heart will always be there and he's a great defender. But everything else he's doing right now is because of where he is.

wait...so...if..by NT standards...

Love>>>>>>>Draymond

then so..must be...

Love>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Griffin

yall boys hell I swear.

Steph is nicer than a mfer but you getting way ahead of yourself. Putting Curry in that class after 3 seasons is laughable to me.

He just had the best offensive season in history but a huge margin, it's laughable that you think anything otherwise.
LOL splain Lucy. How did you come to that conclusion. (please do not post he broke the 3pt record)

Again, this is putting a SERIOUS premium on offense rather evaluating what a player brings on a macro scale.

Love averaged 16 and 10 this season

Draymond averaged 14 and 9.5

Now remember which one of the 2 were considered to be having a stagnant season until the playoffs and didn't get into a rhythm until they changed coaches in the middle of the season

If you swapped them, golden state falls beneath Cleveland in my eyes

I don't see why you can't compare them. They play the same position(s)

The versatility and defense Cleveland would have. Yikes. Green offers the same outside shooting as love

A 3pt shooter would bring golden state down?

Draymond Green is a better 3 pt shooter than Kevin Love?

its ok fam, you can say 14 and 10 for draymond too.

kevin's numbers aren't the ony factor n play though...especially if you take into account he let whomever he guarded get 18-20 a night.

50-40-90

averaged 30

402-3s...at a 46% clip.

wash your entire face.

Draymond wasn't as good as he is now then so that's a stupid argument.

No one was comparing Draymond to Love back then. I was alluding to people going crazy over the Love to Clev trade. Most people believed the trade was excellent for the Cavs allowed them to win a championship, but now some of those same people are the ones saying Love is a bad fit.

Some on the other hand predicted Love would conflict with the Cavs, which is what's currently going on.

I think we are forgetting FIT.

I think Love is a better fit for CLE than Draymond would be.

Due to Kyrie and LeBron already being dominant ball-handlers in Cleveland, it would take away from Draymond's ability to create for himself and others, off of the dribble.

So the, "Swap them" argument might not favor Draymond because I think he would suffer more in a situation where he couldn't really be the 1B Dominant Ball Handler, like he is in GSW.

But they have different skillsets at this point. Depends on which one you prefer

The Warriors have many more players than Cleveland that can handle the ball. Dray is used to not always having to create

Plus outside of Irving and James they really do lack another player who can create

In 34 minutes a game. He needs to wash his entire body.

Love used to be able to do work in the block back when he was in Minnesota, but something happened to him when he got to Clev.

LeBron told him to stand in a corner and wait to shoot 3's. Now, when you put Love on the block he backs his defender down and takes either a contested jump hook or can't back his man down and ends up taking an awful fadeaway.

Someone get Chris Bosh on the phone and have him call Love IMMEDIATELY

Stop it  26 is the new 30. There's been a few players 50-40-90 so where's the large margin?

Exactly, idk what dude is talking about, Dray would fit much better.

Lineup of Kyrie/Earl/Bron/Dray/Frye would be an offensive cheat code.

Having Dray as a secondary playmaker has been one of the biggest keys to success for GSW behind Curry selling his soul to the devil.
