Average Monthly Auto Loan Now $503 @ 68 months

As a VW owner, the German engineering is sometimes their downfall. They can be great but there is such a thing as being too complex. The Japanese have it right by keeping it simple

That's what all my mechanic friends say, German cars are too complex to work on. To reach a part for a simple fix it requires a major disassemble.

I wanted to buy a used 5 series for super cheap, he said he's never raised up a used BMW and not seen the engine leak. Every single one, he wouldn't take one for free lol

By the way, my friend owns a used car lot. It's just like the 2012-2014 mortgage business right now. They will approve anyone with a paycheck, most banks have trackers now or accessories to shut off your car if you don't pay. I'm pimping in my 2001 Maxima with 107K miles for $1600, can't imagine driving an expensive car with all the NJ/NYC potholes and horrendous road conditions. Can't even enjoy a car like you can in Florida

Congratulations on being the first VW owner I have met to admit that they are not perfect.

I'm a car fan in general. I respect the competition (FoST, the WRX, etc) for what they are. Every car caters to a specific demographic which I don't think people take into account when comparing cars

Two and a half months ain't nothing  if you had to buy a decade old Audi with six figure miles, you simply can't afford it. A Honda Civic better suits you.

Realistically, it depends on the motor and the maintenance done on it. Some of the motors coming out of VW are bullet proof, but you gotta pay to play. Cats using regular gas and doing the minimum intervals for oil changes expecting it to last. Treat your car well and it will treat you well.

That last paragraph is also the truth. A car with 100k is gonna need some type of maintenance even if it's something light. But u treat that motor right it will treat u better.

I definitely agree. The next service is at 111K. It's at 106K right now..

I'm gonna get a full inspection at the Audi dealership and have them tell if if everything is looking good or not. Just want to know what i needa' save up for in the near future.

Most VW fanatics openly acknowledge their quirkiness. That's kinda the running joke in the community as far as I've seen. It's a love/hate relationship and always has been, at least for me.

Yeah I'm just glad they switched everything to the MQB platform shared with Audi across the whole range so parts will be far more common and they can improve and tweak the "quirks" that were present until any potential hiccups have been addressed. My tuned Golf R seems well built and gives me confidence that regular maintenance will keep it going for years. My MK6 GTI was very reliable also. Havent had them for crazy mileage though. About 55k on the GTI. I intend to keep the R for the long haul.

Payment is about 675 on this thing.... but to everyone who is satisfied with a used accord.. more power to them. I just cant do it. If I didn't have the kind of speed and agility that allows me to zip through traffic at will, I'd die of high blood pressure in 6 years. The joy I get from a wide open throttle pull to 100mph is worth about 75 cents. I'll just make sure I get my moneys worth

there's motors that flip da windshield wipers so they don't settle on one side... instead of just replacing a stupid wiper blade, da motors of those can go bad and be hundreds of dollars to replace

**** is crazy man

But the new TSI engines are crazy. I'm getting 230/270 at the wheels all while getting nearly 35 mpg.

What tune you guys running? I've been contemplating APR Stage 1, but I'll likely wait until my warranty is up. I bought CPO to take advantage of the warranty due to VW's known reliability issues and I'll be damned if I throw that out the window.

I'm running APR stage 1. I will purchase an intake and intercooler but I wont be going to stage 2. Less reliability and less bang for your buck.

Not trying to thread jack though... to stay on topic.. Warranties and CPO labels and tire/ wheel protections.. GAP insurance... all of these things are driving up auto loan amounts as well. The reality is that most buyers will never use the amounts they paid for extended warranties and extras, but dealers are using them as negotiations to justify higher monthly payments over longer time and its keeping people from being right side up in there loan like they're supposed to be.

I have the Burger Motorsports JB4 sitting at my office right. Waiting for warmer weather to install. Tune while keeping warranty intact :pimp:

Everyone who wanted a hellcat bought one, Chrysler continued making tons after making them semi limited. Now in Michigan, they're rotting on lots a long with scat packs and srt hence why thy started leasing hellcats recently at least in Michigan

Hoping I can pull list my whip on swap a lease, anyone ever do that?
