Jordan Superfly line?

for the SF ill rate it like this

SF 2 > SF 3 > the rest

but ill still stick given the chance to cop any of this shoes in 100$ below ill probably get

XX8

XX9

M11

SF2

SF3

XX8 is so perfect for me

XX9/M11 are 95% perfect

SF2/SF3 are 90% Perfect

But the M11 and the SF2/SF3 are durable and can last outdoor

the Funny thing is that what happened to SF5

you must be joking about M11 lasting outdoor. the rubber is so soft i can bend the grooves with light force using a finger. there has been reports of burning smell from folks wearing M11 outdoors. the rubber pretty much highly flammable.

Each of those shoes are strictly indoor shoes. The Superfly 2s are the worst purchase of the bunch since the bags pop and they're past warranty.

not all, Superfly 2 is alright for outdoors as the rubber is soft but still hard enough to withstand outdoors. the guy said Melo is durable even in outdoors, which is a joke seeing how soft the sole is.

CP3 VII and probably models before it is also alright outdoors just like Superfly2, but VIII onwards like Superfly 3 & 4 they start to use softer rubbers on each new models, especially the CP3 IX, Melo would burn out after 1 days use but SF2 & CP3 VII can last 6 months to a year outdoors, not sure about SF 3& 4 but shouldn't burn out in just few days play.

Kobe IX has pretty shallow pattern & soft rubber, but i've seen people playing outdoors with them once a week for more than 6 months. But i play more than once a week so i figure i'd wear them out in under 3 months.

There aren't many performance shoes (exclude Nike ID XDR) that are designed for outdoors. Zoom Soldier is probably the best out there, then we have lower class shoes like Mentality (decent grip & cushion but nothing too impressive), Ambassador, Rising High etc don't feel as nice.

SF5 officially revealed today to much fanfare..... news.nike.com/news/jordan-super-fly-5

They should have priced these diet-Zooms at $120. $150??...KD9s are what you SHOULD get for $150!

I'm sure these will be comfy and play well, but it does seem like a downgrade from the past versions, especially doing away with the unlocked setup

For me it'll be a deep discount pick-up if at all...

@CEO InSane

I know Weartesters has said it has a moderator plate (and it's in that picture), but if you look at a newer post they did about the Super.Fly 4 PO deconstructed, that moderator plate looks to be from the SF 4 PO instead.

So... not trying to bash these as they could be very solid, but I don't think that plate goes to the shoe.  It just has nikes small rectangular black shank embedded in the midsole.

No way I'd get the SF5 at $150.  I probably wouldn't get it period.  Same price as the KD9 is just comical.

@iks mod, you're correct bro. On top of that, the plates are normally visible on the outsole.
I really want to know their reason for regressing the ride.

Yeah I'm curious too.  Maybe since they really don't move very well, JB figures what they save building the less-advanced ride outweighs sales they might lose?  No clue what goes into the decision... just a thought

they have Horizon & Ultra Fly that replaces Superfly as the tier 2 Air Jordan shoes.

Superfly is designed to be a lesser Air Jordan, but Nike realized it's eating up Air Jordan's sales due to similar setup but lower priced, so they toned down the Superfly in hopes they can sell more newer models & also Flag Ship high profit Air Jordan.

^good take, thanks for sharing. They got too happy with FlightPlate "Air Jordan gets FlightPlate! Melo gets FlightPlate! Superfly, High Rise, everyone gets FlightPlate!"
Like you said they're destroying the flagship because now it's "do I pay $200 for a different upper vs $100 for the High Rise". Another fumble, they have done GS on every JB shoe EXCEPT the Air Jordan. Which has changed for the XXX1.

actually Melo is a really different shoe from AJ, not jsut upper but most part of it, while from Superfly 2 onwards it's meant to share similar cushion (unlocked zoom but thinner) & also sole patterns & rubber as AJ offering similar but lesser cushion than AJ while offering more durability, at much lower price than AJ. so they try to separate Superfly & AJ.

High Rise is nothing compared to AJ & Superfly, I don't know about new Horizon & Ultra Fly but they don't look like the same type of shoes as AJ.

And notice despite similar shoes, AJ is represented by Guards while Superfly by a Power Forward to make them unique? even though SF is slightly forward oriented, i can't imagine it's designed for power plays due to the cushion setup which is clearly for guards and maybe small forwards.

Maybe the ones Blake wears has different cushion setup but looks the same from outside, no way those cushion can support the weight Blake's putting on & landing after a power dunk.

^the FlightPlate setup is very similar in all to the point where sliding on the Air Jordan doesn't blow anyone away "cushion-wise" when compared to the SFs, Melos, High Rise, etc.. The setup in the SF5 won't inhibit Blake or anyother big man...its Zoom. We forget how Zoom began and stayed relatively the same for YEARS (heel / forefoot unit, full length or articulated). Blake spent his first couple years in HyperDunks, Jordan Aero Flight and SF1, all had the standard Zoom like the SF5.
