swoosh peeps can have them all

I wish Nike made Kobes post retirement line strictly an Elite line... Flyknit, Zoom and carbon shanks... all the Elite bells and whistles.

Scrap the Lunar and engineered mesh... [emoji]128553[/emoji]

10s were awful for ball

Honestly majority of NT loved the 8s for basketball, I have a pair I used to wear sparingly and honestly do not see the hype.

They were meh at best. The 9s felt better and even those kinda sucked
Agreed and agreed.  I've played in the I, II, V, VI, VIII, IX and X.  I'd take the VI or V over anything else, and I'd even take the I before the X.  Not saying they're better or worse, just my preference.

X's felt clunky to me underfoot.  Transition and feel underfoot were not smooth.  Elite lows look great though.

VIII's are very overrated to me.  They're certainly not bad by any means and I enjoyed playing in mine, but that lunarlon bottoms out quickly.  Probably tied with the IX as my third favorite Kobe.

Without a doubt the V and VI were the best of the line for basketball. Could careless what anyone else has to say since I probably destroyed about 5 pairs of each and still have a pair of VI I use sparingly and those were my prime years.

Those will prob go down as GOAT basketball shoes for me

I agree... the Kobe VI's are one of the best hooping shoes that I've ever played in. I loved everything about that shoe... looks, traction, stability, cushioning.... everything.

The 8's were phenomenal. Herringbone traction, court feel, great 1-to-1 fit and perfect transition.

Only downside was the lunarlon bottoming out way too quickly.

At the end of the day it's all subject.  I'm 5'9 and quick, so naturally I don't want something clunky and high off the ground.  I need something lightweight with okay support and ruthless traction.

Obviously if you're a bigger person, then your criteria will change.  Most likely you'll want something more stable, thicker lunar or thicker zoom unit and more support.

Seems like the Kobe 10, 11, AD are focusing more on cushioning/impact protection

I had the same problem with the 8's cushioning bottoming out... but it was a decent shoe overall.

Another problem I had with the 8's is the mesh uppers started to rip apart... the midsole on my 6's ripped on me as well.

I bought the 9 elite lows and the 10 elite highs and they both performed well imo. Only gripe I had with them is the Lunar... I prefer Zoom.

Hmmm i need to try out some 9 Elite lows.  Good luck to me trying to find a pair.

U not feeling the AD Sup?
Eh, the lack of Kobe wearing them on the court just changes things for me. Spent way too much on Kobes last year, my wallet is breathing a sigh of relief now that he's retired

We'll see what happens if there's a flyknit version, could be tempted but definitely don't feel the need for more. Watching that unboxing video with Kobe on these, he talked me into grabbing that first pair when the app gave me the early reservation, but we'll see what happens down the line. Starting to cut back on things across the board as well.

Yeah I feel u

Im digging the blk/wht CW but idk, Im not so enthused about grabbing a pair of these

I like Derozans PEs more than any of the CW we've gotten so far, specially the red johns he wore

And like someone said a page or 2 or 3 back, they look cheap

Hopefully a FK version will fare better, but not gonna run for a pair of those either

Wallet and myself are on the same page too as of late when it comes to kix

The kobe 4 and 5 were wildly overrated in the traction department imo.

Especially the 5.

The 5 also lacked durabilty big time.  Probably the shoe ive seen with a torn upper in game more than any other shoe ever.

They did tear but that was only the outside, it was ugly but still useable

Mine usually tore after a good amount of wear

I don't think people rated the Vs that high on traction/durability to begin with when they originally dropped. Those would be my two gripes with the shoe too, although I still love the Vs regardless cuz of how they look and how well they fit my feet. I don't remember having any major issues with the herringbone traction on the IVs.

Agreed the v traction wasn't great but the iv was pretty damn good to me!

Never owned the IV. I couldn't play in my V-Days but all my other V's I loved playing in. 8 sole on the V would've been the best bball shoe ever.

My pair of Chaos Vs tore and I didn't even use them to hoop

I think it's mainly cuz it was the first iteration of that upper. Hyperdunk 2010's had the same issue I believe. Certain colorways worked and some didn't. Never seen the Del Sol V's rip but plenty of Chaos', home and inline tears. The performance of the shoe was still great to me though.
