Y'all can't let CA Based bs antics get y'all in every thread mane

Anyway I almost got a year just for yelling at a police officer n asking why they were messing with me, this dude better take them 6 months n ****

Terrible. Dad is a scumbag too for writing that letter.

Scumbaggery knows no bounds. I'd like to see the letter he would write if he had a daughter who got raped and not a son who is a rapist. His complete lack of empathy for the victim is how I know this man is just a low-life scumbag with money.

If someone fingerbanged you when you were drunk and didn't want it then there would probably be hell to pay.

Where are you all getting the 'fingered' part from. the article in the first post said that he was thrusting on her.

Just downright disgusting man. Crazy what you can get away with when you have what Paul Mooney refers to as the complexion for the protection.

The victim mentions it in her letter towards him...he claims that he asked if it was OK to do that and she consented...

Dude didn't even read the whole article typed some dumb **** and hopefully will be banned for it...

Pleasantly surprised by all of the positive vibes being sent to the victim in this case. I was expecting a patriarchical defense of Turner.

I think the wages of whiteness is more effective than white privilege in comprehending the sentencing handed down in this case. IMO, white privilege is quickly losing the analytical edge integral to capturing the workings of racism in the U.S. I've seen it used to account for everything from discriminatory housing to the Oscar awards.

W.E.B. Du Bois was right to point out that regardless of class, gender, and, I would add, sexuality, the wages of whiteness are enjoyed by all who can phenotypically pass as white.

But just as wages differ across industries, sectors, and so forth, the wages of whiteness are disproportionately allocated. Turner and the judge share an academic pedigree and status as an athlete. Turner is the beneficiary of elite, white, male wages. In this case, those wages take the form of access to elite public and private institutions and a slap on the wrist.

By contrast CAbased's is probably right to take issue with white privilege. After all, his brother did not accrue unearned benefits. The problem, tho, is that CAbased and other white folks who receive relatively pathetic wages of whiteness direct their rage towards black and brown folks instead of the Turner's of the world.

I encourage everyone to read the victim's court letter, as OP posted on page 1. Powerful stuff
