Ralph Lauren struggling?

Man I aint bought polo 4 retail in yrs. I don't mind spending full retail if the quality is there but it's not, lacoste is my go to for polos now.

It's sick when a timeless brand takes a hit like that. All these new cornball brands, dad hat makers and such just in it for the quick buck and will be gone in no time. Can't stand today's "fashion" rather not be with the times

RL been around since before most o y'all been born.

out of all the clothing I've had, the RL joints I've got have lasted the longest. you could literally play rugby in them joints.

ralph was there wen i was in church rockin the long sleeve tucked in

he was there in high school when i rocked da polo

during many harsh winters i could always count on ralph wit the style and warmth

I've seen ralph on the rich, the poor, the middle class, all over the world

ralph been there longer than any of these come and go streetwear brands and he's going to be there

put some respek on its got damb name

here is the thing

IDC about a brands history when it comes to clothing...........................i frequent another section of NT an i guess you could call me a trend stepper, i will take that.............ive gone hard with polo, lacoste and tommy in my life so far................is what it is,

clearly this thread is about brand struggle, a lot of NT does not l ike change, hence wearing NT Denim in 2016 and bashing the other half that wears jeans that fit with dem Yzy boost

if you wanna dress like 2003 go ahead................i have no shame in saying i change with times, but I'm still real at the core, no diff than my many of us here who didnt give a **** about Adidas yet NT is almost Adidastalk.com

don't care to wear POLO in 2016, unless something changes

theres a reason it has a history though.

i don't wear the collar polo ts any more, most of the ralph stuff i wear now are things that I've gotten in the past that i know last literally a lifetime.

the hoodies, shorts, flannels, cable knit sweaters etc. not only do those things hold up well but they never really go out of style.

the rugby with the big logos i was never really into. i like the stuff that has minimal labeling. purple label is excellent too.

i def rock with other brands, and i think a lot of the newer stuff if great, eem the hype beastish stuff.

But Ralph is Ralph.

struggling i guess, but a lot of people are struggling.

I understand. I dont even think its about change its just a lot of those brands the price doesnt justify the history or even quality even if you say you dont care about it. Its like why would I pay that much for instace on FOG when that is gonna fizzle out in a year. When those other brands fizzle out Ralph Lauren will always be hot for a fraction of the cost...forever

cool, I'm not bashing Polo at all an i think you know me from the other section i don't own any FOG.......i have alternatives

guess that is called "fast fashion"

i care about quality and style.............and the major key is saving money, last i check i don't think anyone on NT gets a check or free stuff shipped to them unless they are on the A list.....if so I'm not talking to you guys

conclusion, i dont owe POLO a damn thing

I've never seen polo underwear cost that much, they are expensive though.

@Supermanblue79

Great post. Nailed it right on the head.

In terms of the D&S line, I do not see the younger crowd latching on as they once did with the Rugby line. The materials feel cheap to the touch and the aesthetic is not appealing.

Two things moving forward that bother me as a customer are the Black Label line being discontinued, although some remnants of the look are being packaged as Blue Label. And the news that the wildlife rugged aesthetic will be phased out soon.

I used to be a big Lo Head. Sold most of my collection when I was down bad...and needed some cash. Still got a few pairs of RRL denim.

I miss that Indian head rugby varsity I used to have. Instantly regret selling it :smh:. The 35+ OGs still wear some LO though. Don't think it'll ever really go away.

RLX still makes some clean jackets though. This one Bankroll Fresh had on from last season was fire RIP

I usually buy a few polos every summer and I've had the same size for the last few years. I bought some last summer and the cut and fit was awful. Joints were shorter, wider and material was thinner. Returned them all the next day. Haven't been back to Polo since. I ended up getting some Banana Republic polos for $10 and the fit was 1000x better. Need to go get more soon.

Definition of classic right here. Hood sht :pimp:

i don't consider that hood at all, and those are very normal pieces.......for ppl who got money a job

i don't think sweats with a lil pony can even run its course.................the bigger picture though...............based on thread title................

Those polo white tees suck. Wide fitting unless they've gotten better recently.

Ill tell you why........

THEY WANNA CHANGE, THEY WANNA CHANGE STYLES AND LOOOK..............POLO HAS HISTORY YES INDEED

BUT

THINGS CHANGE FOLKS
