Stephen Curry’s “middle-aged dad sneakers” are being mercilessly mocked by the internet

People don't get low tops for basketball, but world class million dollar athletes wear them

Much less how people wore low top Pumas and Superstars back in the day.

Having a good fit and stability, etc, are good for preventing an ankle sprain. But I feel that having mid's or high's minimize the amount of sprain when I do twist my ankle.

Steve Nash started the low cut wave.....
Pretty sure Gilbert Arenas was wearing them before Nash...or at least had his own low model first. The Gil Zero dropped in 2006 and I don't think Nash was wearing low PEs until the Zoom BB which dropped in 2007. Could be wrong though.

As for the low-top vs. high-top debate, I've read conflicting articles online. Some say lows are just as secure as highs and actually put less stress on your knees, whereas others say that material/lacing over your actual ankle provide better ankle support. I personally switched to playing in lows somewhat recently and support/lockdown feel the same to me as with highs. I'll probably continue to stick with lows because they're lighter and less restrictive.

Nash BEEN rocking low tops. It's his thing. There's actually an old thread on NT about Nash's shoes

Appreciate the info. Tried researching it some and couldn't really find anything about him wearing lows prior to the Zoom BB line; little did I know there was an NT thread about it.
