OG Sizing Vs. Retro Release Sizing

Curious to know if anyone is familiar with the difference in sizing from OG releases from the 80s versus the retro releases.

Some time ago, I read somewhere that sizing has changed to a slight degree. For example, an Air Jordan 1 from 1985 size 12 is more similar in size to a modern Retro release size 11.5.

I recently purchase a pair of '85 Air Jordan 1s and plan to sole swap them using a 1 low or a 1 high strap. I could just easily compare them side by side but have received them yet and wondering if anyone has ever compared an older "OG" model to a modern "Retro Release".

Thanks in Advance.

Older releases fit slightly smaller. But I'm talking 10-15yrs ago releases. I've had a few 85's and They honestly fit somewhat larger from my experience. You'll need to have the pair in hand and compare the outsole length by putting both sneakers adjacent to one another. Good luck!

OG releases have fit true to size and retros have a smaller fit from my experiences. It may be the different material they're using now adays.

I had og taxis, last shots, and playoff 13s and they all ran half size smaller than the most recent retros.

This arrived yesterday and gave them a deep cleaning. Sz12 from 85 fit like an 11.5 which is perfect for me and the outsole seems to match an 11.5. I compared my retro og metallic sz12 to these and the metallics are a little longer.

The leather is like something I've never felt on Js. I'm sure it has something to with the age. Some oil should recondition it well
