Gator snatches 2 y/o at Disney Resort #FLLiving

They could have just been walking by. Gators are crazy fast on land. They didn't have to be in the water for the gator to see a mini human and decide to attack.

The article says they were wading in the water.

But yeah, a gator could easily emerge from the water and snatch a 2-yr old super quick. That's why they always say to not let small kids and pets go in or near fresh water in FL.

Just read another arctile by Washington post. The id was ankle deep in the water about a foot from the sand. They weren't swimming and no signs or notifications of alligator warning.

I swear people love giving their **** opinions without even getting all the facts straight.

Yeah...I figured it was a late night family stroll along the water. People do this all the time with their kids when on vacation. Just a very unfortunate situation.

Florida residents, you guys treat all lakes/bodies of waters with extreme precaution, and mindful of wildlife? I feel like the shoreline of the beach is the only "safe" place to do stuff like this.

Wild how balanced things in this world are.

You want to live in a place with perfect weather year round, well you also have to deal with prehistoric beasts, hurricanes, and weak job markets.

Unfortunate situation man

every house ive ever been to in Florida that has an in ground pool has one of those atrium-looking jobs (below) over the top...i asked why and they said to keep out gators and sneks...

true. the southern states albeit sun shine and rainbows, but a bunch of crap befalls them, terrible economy, natural disasters, and their minimum wage is trifling..

RIP to the boy, I hate that. Prayers to the family.

Correct, not swimming he was just splashing around some water, which Disney allows.

Also, gator attacks on humans are very rare as said above.

They hardly ever happen unless provoked.

Seriously, how is a 2yo even near that lake at night? Disney will make this go away. RIP to this kid.

Nile crocodile, they are usually saltwater crocs, but they've found them in the Everglades.

Wow. Haven't heard one of these stories since the 90's. I remember when Florida and gators eating kids/pets seemed common.

R.I.P

Yeah man they are savages. Dudes will death roll you and drown you at the bottom of the water and if they see you still moving do it again and again try and break off limbs.

The Grand Floridian was showing an outdoor movie for families. The kid was simply by the shore and was snatched.
