I had quick Convo with a guy hustling Primerica insurashorto me. The dude was telling success is everything traveling, shopping etc...don't get me wrong it's normal to do those type of things but I told him that can lead to a false fantasy.

I told him I had a uncle who owned a restaurant very successful God bless and was flamboyant and he got robbed and killed in his apartment for almost $200,000

I told him people who look for money live false fantasies. It's okay to have money but if it's a tool to be used to help you put a shelter on your head, food on your table and clothes on your back. As well give to charity.

Life is extremely short. The material world and the spiritual world can can have us confused some

sure you can measure success financially but material things = happiness is def not true

after a certain amount of $$$ its just a pissing contest on who has more

i know a dude who has "arab money" dude is legit miserable despite having everything in life

Yea I know them Arab dudes too they have wealth but they love having family near them. The ones who are solo in life tend to be very nuratic at times.

Look success is how we as humans define our selves. If I were a academic Ill Care about degrees. If I don't care about academia I'll be a hustler selling shoes and socks.

All I know the money I have I use it for simple things and i give to charity.

I know People who are rich but have no mother(mom's passed away) and wish they can literally have a mothers affection.

I've taken to a homeless dude whose extremely smart and has money but doesn't want a house cause of his fear of it going into flames. (House burned down when he was a kid, so mentally he can't live in a house.)

These are people I've meet at my mosque btw.

God does some mysterious things sometimes.

Someone once told me that money is life's report card. It's a callous but true statement. It's a direct measure of how you've done in life in a lot of cases.

That kind of ignores the effect that most people with real money got it from a good roll of the dice at birth.

If you're self made, S/O to you, can't respect it when you had everything necessary given.

Unfortunately, if you have boatloads of money on this planet, chances are you've been a scumbag. Im talking your Telecom tycoon, offshore stashing, George Soros types.

So if someone dedicates their life to helping others or fighting for a cause but makes an insignificant amount of money doing so, they get a failing grade?

Word to much frontin,-were all struggling together that's why I hate people say **** like oh she/he's broke lol your no better Even if u make 100gs its all about how u spend your money

The dumbest **** ive heard though was a broke college student say--"Oh he only makes about 100gs that's nothing "

just never make it a thing to compare you inside personal view of your own life, to what the next man is portraying.

Not sure how I feel about this because someone that is born and raised in a 3rd World Country damn sure shouldn't be judged on their "report card."

That logic could be used if everyone was afforded the same starting point, but we know that isn't true at all.

But you said in a lot of cases. Maybe in developed countries.

Trump came out the womb as a multi-millionaire, straight A's for life.

Exactly. Trumps dad "loaned" him 1 million dollars, to start up his enterprise. Trump been a jerk, crazy some just realizing it. Tons of people tuned into his show Apprentice, they finally see what he really stands for.

Success is relative, money is not necessarily a barometer of success.

There's plenty of people who go out in the world to help others. Their barometer is the number of lives they've helped or saved.

For still others, their career paths were never about money. Some scientists, researchers, etc, they do important, integral work and for them it's really not about the money. Think of biologists and anthropologists.

In other fields however, yes money is absolutely a measure of success.

Money isn't everything but it is something. It opens doors and provides opportunities. Using money as a means of self-esteem is where things start going bad for people. Of course you're going to feel good about yourself if you are wealthy and provide for yourself but having humility and a human soul can't be bought.

Success is subjective. While most people on NT think they are ballers and say 'Money = Success'. That is simply not true. Those people are either hood rich, don't have money, or a stready legal stream of income. One who values money on top of everything else can't be all that happy. However, being financially stable to give you options and basic freedoms certainly helps. IMO, being happy and comfortable in your life with the people closest to you is success.

If money genuinely makes you happy and you continually use that as a measurement for success, you can say you're successful, but you probably don't have alot of your priorities straight.

Gibberish considering there are more millionaires out there today.

People like Warren Buffet always inspired me. He's still humble, down to earth, and doesn't take his success for granted.

Money and commodities have inflated in value and consumer spending has increased 10 fold, maybe more. If those same millionaires were in the era of 20 years ago, chances are they wouldn't reach a million dollars. The world has changed so much to a point where asking a trillion dollar loan from the world bank is not unheard of. Those numbers exist today. 20-25 years ago, you'd be laughed out of the room.
