GSWARRIORS THREAD VOL. ANDDD AGAINNNN NBA CHAMPIONS

This is going to sting for a long time... Yes I know the window perhaps isn't closed... BUT YOU NEVER KNOW! We ain't getting KD, I'm certain of that. I don't know who you replace Barnes with so I think he's back. I want Noah, he would be perfect in this system and Ezeli is trash.

I'm extremely disappointed on how Curry played most of the finals, that's what really hurts
It's like he forgot how to shoot perimeter shots and neglected going to the hole. It's really too bad that both him and Klay were both off tonight. Gotta stop chucking up those 3s all of the damn time.

I'm done with the NBA for a while. I'll be in this thread still but I'm glad I don't have to watch the espn slurpage of lebron since I don't have cable. The last 4 games were a travesty officiating wise, don't care about it being rigged or other conspiracy theories being said. It's just plain bad officiating on the refs and the league as a whole this series.

Draymond green is the damn heart beat of this team, I have ZERO doubt he laid it all out there tonight, some of these other guys I'm not so sure. I'm proud to have Dray on this team. Most important player on this Warriors team

"But y'all only won because of all the Cavs injuries, see they beat y'all in 2016 w/ their full squad!!!" - people, probably

im sick. i gotta take a break from the internetz, so much slander, i can't handle it.

#feelsbadman
And then I can mention an injured Bogut and a suspended Draymond

It's a never ending argument unfortunately

A little undersized for a SF, since we slide Barnes to the 4 when we go small.

Just looking at the list of FAs for this summer and not a lot of notable players that can come in and fill Barnes' role in the team.

That's the problem, which worries that we will keep him no matter what the price

I really hope Dubs consider signing Batum and Noah. They would be perfect fits, especially Batum. Another long wing player that can dribble, pass, shoot, and play great defense. Noah and Bogut splitting minutes would be perfect. Both are great defenders and passers, with Noah having better offense and Bogut with better rim protection. I would keep Ezeli if he's willing to take a team friendly contract. He's still really young and looked great the beginning of the season. His injury really messed him up. It was pretty evident he lost his explosiveness and confidence once he came back.

I'm incredibly frustrated with festus. granted steph and klay pissed the bed and you can't expect too much from festus, he looked like utter crap out there from the first minute. he was so shook when it came to just going up straight on open looks and layups. hesitated so much. steph and festus combined looked like Kap trying to play against Seattle Seahawks' defense

Man... :smh: Curry is truly a magician.. pulling out the disappearing act for his last trick

At least Festus is still young. I'd take him back but others might be willing to pay up for him. Dwight sounds great but likely too good to be true. IMHO Barnes is not worth the money he will command.

Still in shock but can't wait for next season lol.

Bazemore is undersized but his athleticism makes up for that. Not impossible for him to come back but he will get a lot of calls from many teams or a max from ATL. Batum would be great but he's gonna stay in Charlotte. I think Barnes will be back despite his lackluster Finals performance.

Barnes is still really young. I think he comes back unless the Warriors are somehow able to lure KD.

That bench of Livingston/Barbosa/Iggy/Speights/Ezeli/Rush/Clark/Varejao is really not great at all.
Aside from Livingston and Iggy, we could be looking at a lot of roster turnover this year to upgrade the bench. The Cavs (and OKC, for that matter) had players that were much better suited for the postseason off the bench.

A lot of you guys are in a much better place, or at least presenting yourself as in a much better place than I am in.  I am much older than most of the Warriors fam on NT, and I am absolutely devastated.  I am not gonna front like I am not.  Last night hurt so bad.  Being a 73 win team and blowing a 3 game lead is almost unfathomable.  This is easily the most disappointed I have ever been as a sports fan.  Giants in 2002 was really tough.  The Niners in the Superbowl was tough too.  However nothing compares to this.

Just keeping it real and honest.  I am crushed.

I agree with you. This 1 hurt but I still feel like 02 WS was worse because we didn't have a title the year before

The reason I am taking this harder than the 02 Giants is because for the first time in my sports viewing life, I feel we were the overwhelming favorites to win and didnt.  Even though I thought we would win in 02, we werent the clear cut best team in the sport all season long.  This was a choke, pure and simple.  I have never experienced something like this.  This team was the best regular season team in NBA history and we never really saw that team other than in spurts the entire playoffs.  We blew it.  Period.

I'm crushed that they lost too, but the fact they won it last year helps a lot. I also think there's a good core of players that will keep the Warriors in the hunt over the next couple years. And honestly, I think a loss like this could be one of those painful experiences that propels the team to another title or two. The Spurs, as great as they are, don't win every year, let alone back-to-back. If Warriors are able to get 2-3 in 5 years, I'll be happy. (This is assuming Lacob won't go Jed York on us and self-implode the team).

Also, the way the series played out, you could tell LeBron and Kyrie elevated their team to a different level the last few games and the Warriors simply didn't have it in them, for whatever reason. Warriors won a lot of games since they were playing a different style, but OKC and the Cavs figured it out.

Nah man I'm right there with you, by far the biggest disappointment

2015 = A New Hope
2016 = Empire Strikes Back
2017 = Return Of The Jedi

I really hope so.  Sometimes, huge heartbreaking losses can take decades for teams to get over.  I certainly hope that this isnt the case with this team, but you never know. That is why you have to take advantage of every opportunity you have.

I agree, it's another reason why this doesn't hurt as much to me as I thought it would. The story of this Warriors team isn't just this season - it's probably the next 3-5 years as long as the Warriors have Curry/Klay/Draymond in their primes. How they respond to adversity is probably just as important, if not more so, in how this goes. Looking forward to next season already, but I'm glad we finally get a break from all this at the same time.

I'm hoping Warriors go 2013-2014 Spurs next season, get the rematch against LeBron in the Finals, and win.

So basically you dont feel this hurts so much because you are assuming we are going to be right back in contention again next season.  That is fine, you are certainly entitled to think that.  However, I dont see how that assumption changes what happened this season.  And what happened this season is that we were 60 minutes away from back to back titles, and we blew it.  Blew it three times.

That hurts.  I am shocked that some of you are in the place you are in today.  This is easily the biggest sports disappointment of my lifetime.  Nothing is even close really.

Yeah I totally see where you're coming from. I guess I looked the series from a different perspective...as I watched the games, it felt like it was LeBron/Kyrie taking their games to a different level and snatching the series from the Warriors rather than the Warriors choking the games away. So the Cavs won rather than the Warriors lost (at least from my point of view). They were the better team toward the latter part of the series, they figured out the mismatches and how to make the Warriors uncomfortable. I'm definitely assuming they'll bounce back from this (which could be wrong...I sure hope not of course) and get better next season.
