NT, How do you balance working a 9-5 and still have time to have fun on weekends?

Lupus is tough, my cousin has it and there were times she couldn't do anything. I'm glad she lives somewhere like NY now where she can get better meds and hold a part time job. She wouldn't even be able to handle a full time, so you're doing great, don't compare your routine to folks without that affliction, it will depress you.

Do you enjoy your job OP?

When I worked a job I hated, I spent alot of mental energy thinking about it outside of work and would exhaust myself. Got into a field I love and now I'm happy and energetic.

If you like your job, then follow @handullz advice.

Sorry to hear you have lupus, my homegirl has it and last weekend, she opted to stay in cuz she needed rest. Completely understandable.

Turning 26, I have taken 2 courses and work full time and go out pretty much all of the time. I drink caffeine every work day and walk almost a mile every day on my break.

I hit the gym 3 times a week, one with mostly calisthenics in the beginning, some lifting before I go out Friday night, and Sunday to sweat out all the crap.

One thing that's also helped is, to not always have to try to go to every event. Let yourself move on your own schedule. Opt to meet up later or grab a Lyft to meet up if you need time to relax

Thank you for this... sometimes its hard fighting lupus alone because my family doesn't really understand it, so its been quite the battle.
How does havin a full time job have you to tired to do anythin on the weekend or during the week? If your that tired your just lazy or workin in a coal mine m-f

Yeah, pure laziness if you axe me.

I work 40-55 hrs a week and have a 7 month old. Im never to tired to not do something. Still go to gym 3 times a week. Im in my 20's. Idk maybe its just in me to keep movin cuz i dont get tired.

And plus, i get it, get fly i got 6 jobs i dont get tired.

Okay if this was directed at me that's not very cool. Did you bother to read the previous comments, I have a DISEASE. I CANT HELP being tired. Do you think its a walk in the park for me living with lupus? I don't care how many jobs you work, you don't deal with what I deal with on the daily and I also don't deal with the ***** you deal with so I take that into perspective and I respect your circumstances but you best respect mine too. Talk about pure laziness? I WANT to have more energy I've tried every herbal and medical treatment under the sun and I am still not where I should be as a 24 (boutta be 25) year old. You have NO idea how much it saddens me that I can't work as hard as I want to and live a normal life. Read up on lupus and tell me if you could do what you say you do now at full capacity.

I absolutely 100 percent love my job.

No problem. Have you ever checked out Walk To End Lupus Now? It's a national thing but they have a walk in SF every year. We went for my homegirl and walked 3 miles with a whole bunch of people. Just something to look into if it helps.

Yes I've heard of it! I definitely hope I have the strength to do it though lol

For me my job ain't the best but it doesn't suck. By the time I'm in the parking lot Ive already forgot about it .get what I need to get done first when I get home ,take a shower smoke some :pimp: watch a few shows then to sleep.

I do my getting out on the weekends which is cool for me cuz I don't wanna spend to much money every week. If I do "go out" it's to the park to stare at the water ,clears my head like no other.

Just rest up as much as u can , save all your energy for the weekend ...I'm 28, all I do is work n sleep during the week no liquor or anything else ...soon as Thursday night or Friday hits im back out chea , drinks flowing , yambs , late nights n all that ...use Sunday to get yourself together for the week

First thing I thought to myself after reading your initial post was "there's no way this dude isn't depressed."

Is it a situational depression or did it come on out of nowhere?  If it's the latter, are you taking medication/seeking treatment?

Low-key I feel you

M-F I wake up at 5AM, my body is trained, aint no way I'm going to be outside at 1AM on the weekend

I know some of my boys party it up, sleep 2-3 hours, and be at work bright and early

I don't know man I need my sleep

It's actually really easy. I used to go out in college, etc and always be up till 3 or 4 am. When I started working these habits carried over and I'd sleep like at 12 or 1 am. I'd be exhausted all week and just want to sleep all weekend.

Now, I wake up at 5:15 am. Go to bed at 930 pm (well put on an audio book with 30 min timer). I wake up refreshed, go for a 45 minute walk, and eat breakfast . Energy all day. On weekend I sleep in till 8 regardless of how late I'm out. Get up, do some errands and then, if tired, take a 2 hour or so nap. It works. Do it.

This is my problem, I have such a hard time waking up on weekends now and I think it's because I don't sleep during the week.

Aye mami if u need to relief sum stress all u gotta do is cross da bay bridge and let a young king work his magic :pimp:

Sleep.

If I know I'm going or Friday, I always take a nap before since I'm so used to going to bed at 11 during the week nights a

Exercise and coffee. Really not that hard

That trick daddy diet seems to work fine for him.

No msg, no gluten, straight lace blunts and patron. He talked about it on breakfast club.

He seems to be feelin fine and dandy.

OP I'm in the same boat except I'm fine on weekends (even tho I still dont go out much)

After work during the weekdays if I sit for longer than 30 mins I'm liable to knock out

I'm 24 as well and I go to the gym 4-5 days a week. Also play soccer on Friday and Saturday. These are our peak years fam, don't waste that youth chilling on the couch

I'm 28, I work from 6-3 during the week. About an hour commute, makes it really 5-4 everyday.

I try to just relax during my weekends and not do anything besides maybe run the local trail or watch a movie every once in awhile.
