#Brexit vote is now VOL. RIP European Union.

Yeah just to see how to build a millennial movement to secede from America.

I wont settle for anything other than cali tho.

I've been watching Bloomberg tv the past few months because of all the fine female anchors so brexit has been talked about heavy for the last week. Seems like some want them to stay so they can enjoy their goods and exiting would bring about too much uncertainty.

the vote is just for opinion though right?

they arent going to base their decision straight off the voting.

actually yes, if they vote to leave da election it will have consequences and they will actually negotiate to untangle economies and plan da actual leave.

Belgium is set to take a significant economic hit if they vote to leave the EU so my fingers are crossed for voting to stay. Mainly our textile and steel industry.

Why do people want to leave? For independence and stricter immigration? Maybe the network I was watching was biased but seems like a lot of companies and business experts are against it and say it'll cause a big mess.

Also found it interesting that it was against the law to talk about the voting before the voting was done. Didn't know it was some international law and American tv couldn't talk about it either.

I been paying attention since it came up but I don't have the pulse of Brits.

That it's so close with Leave in the lead says a lot.

The Brits on tv like Corden and Oliver screaming stay (from the safety across the pond) but I see a few others cosigning leave.

This throws a huge wrench in that world economy chips in your hand replacing money and credit cards conspiracy theory.

Not against the law to talk about it, only against the law for commentators and media personalities to say if its a positive or a negative, as they might influence popular opinion.

People want to leave the EU because of the massive entitlement burdens it places on *certain* nations. For the UK in particular, a lot of people feel some type of way because the UK essentially paid £13 billion to be apart of the EU in 2015, along with pledging to take on a certain number of refugees and other commitments. The UK received ~£4.5 billion back from the EU, and they get trade/tax benefits from being a part of the union, so they really only "gave" ~£8.5 billion and saved billions of euros due to the existing EU trade agreements (TPP would change this,) but many people only see that it costs £13 billion a year/£55 million a week and don't believe EU membership is worth the burden. Fears surrounding muslim refugees and terrorism don't help the situation.

Companies are against it because it will cost them a lot of money to operate in the UK without the support of the EU.

Word on wall street earlier this week was 35% in favor of leaving, knew it was BS. At least the lowered value of the sterling will cause an increase in the usd/yen which should lead to a drop in commodities as seen earlier today. Should be rough for emerging market currencies as those are likely to fall a decent amount. I know UBS was sending emails out earlier voicing concerns on their pricing in GBP.

Or we see a 5% drop to "correct" us equities... Bond prices go up while yields go down.. Staple equities should see no harm, should be a rough day for airlines, hotels, cars, and hotel companies as their stocks should be impacted the most.

My relatives over seas, while not in the UK tell me how if you vote leave, youre a xenophobic person. vote remain and you're a traitor to your country for allowing the disruption of society to continue haha. There is no real positive from the crowds on the opposition. FREXIT and GEREXIT to come.

crazy that leave is leading.

i really thought stay would win by 5%, just because alot of people will choose the status quo when they are confused on what to do.

market about to go crazy :x

maybe some great opportunities out there :nerd:

Gold seems like it will make a jump since the rest will most likely crash if they leave (starting with UK stocks and EUR stocks, then domino effect to a global setback)

We'll see :nerd:
