2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

KD has meetings set up with the Warriors, Spurs and Thunder. I'm guessing the Warriors and Spurs are smarter at pursuing talent than the Lakers 'bruhhh, its hollywood b, need we say more? oh we do? uhmm..uhhh..wait, lets start over. Bruhhhh it's hollywood!!'

Thank you.

Dude really tried to argue that they'd have 26MM to spend after signing KD and letting Waiters and Ersan walk. Lol.
That 26 million was sounding nice.

Glad we got that cleared up.

Dude called you an airhead though

I guess he just logged off after that, not even a  'my bad' or "oops I was wrong"

The Bulls stopped being a franchise to me once jordan retired.

if he leaves OKC will people slander him like they did LBJ?

How do you think the Spurs and GSW meetings are going to go?

doubt it. no. probably 98.9% no slander will come his way for leaving there.

and to be fair the only slander bron got for actually leaving cleveland was from Ohioans. Everybody else was just mad at him teaming up with 2 other prime all stars and the foo foo *** Diane Sawyer 'Decision' special.

I for one, will not be slandering KD if he leaves, but get on like you been **** on, who got next.

Well since Kev already came out and said he is fine in the endorsement/extra cirricular department, I figure the convos will be strictly basketball. So Spurs will talk about their history of strong outings and chips, and coaching style and ability to keep him surrounded with talent to compete. a Kawhi-KD-LMA lineup with extras in there.

Warriors will talk about their free flow offense and how even though he is a star, he can be even larger when the success comes. And since he will be another monster scoring threat, he'll typically have single coverage every night to do whatever he wants with. And then going to a team with b2b finals showings, he could be the missing piece that would separate a finals appearance from a finals win. And then with the young talent in oakland and the owners dedication to spending whatever, they'll stay in title contention for a long time.

something along those lines.

The minimums and mid levels are pretty much remaining the same, it's only the max deals that are truly seeing the major increase.

The mid-tier free agents will be the ones that see the huge increases.

Mid-tier isn't what it use to be. Biyombo mid-tier? He;s probably looking at $15M per season, which is ludicrous. But its the times I guess.

I remember when Jerome James has a decent playoffs in 2005 with the Sonics, then parlayed it into a 5 year deal for $30M with the Bockers. Then proceeded to avg 2.5 pts and less than 2 rebs for the last 4-5 years of his career. I once just stared at him sitting on the bench when they were in town playing the Clippers. The amount of no damns given by him was truly amazing. He would barely watch the game.

Infatuated with the bust signings for some reason. I wonder if I would be that bust once the big contract was given to me for not doing much. I can;t say i wouldn't just mail it in. I think i would

People slandered lebron because the way he did it plus he was born and lived in Ohio his entire life

KD isn't from OKC or anywhere in the state, hell the team came not too long ago from Seattle.

IMO, he can do whatever the hell
He wants

Yup.

Plus for a young Black man OKC might actually be worse to live in than Cleveland

I could really see KD going to the Spurs....

Kawhi-KD-Aldridge would be a ridiculous trio
