Even if Westbrook does go to LA, he probably does a 1+1 deal in '17-'18 to get that 10 year max as well.

It'd be tougher for him to get it... Than KD with the cap going up again.
For a couple of reasons
1. LA wouldn't have bird rights on him
2. If Westbrook came over, you assume they would go straight to the cap $107mil, and over to try and win a title.
So they'd have to find an extra $10mil on him in cap space. If they can't then they won't be able to give him that new max.

This dude is 28 years old and would have been rolling in even more money had he not decided to go bowling and be a knucklehead on the side. He'd be a $200M+ career earner.

not the point. He's made $70M+ in basketball earnings. But to think he would have possibly tripled it. You and i would be thrilled with $70M.

Don't get it twisted, MLB is still the GOAT when it comes to being a player.
For instance, Kershaw already signed a 200+ million dollar deal but could basically go anywhere without having to worry about being recognized.
KD/Bron/Steph/Russ can't say the same.

MLB does an awful job of marketing their superstars.
There's so many great young players in the game & a casual fan probably doesn't even know who someone like Nolan Arenado is.

For sure, baseball has more talented players under 25 than basketball which is crazy to think about.
It's not just the MLB's fault, baseball itself is just not interesting to most people unless you grew up with it, are a numbers geek or just a sports head.
Not to mention the guys wear helmets and hats all the time.
