2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

To be truly honest, this off season for KD is being overblown. There's not much to discuss cause I truly believe he's taking the one year in OKC this year and we'll be doing this again next year.

Unless they win the title next year then there will be no discussion to go had whatsoever.

I feel the same way. He's basically doing what Melo did a few years ago. He wants to see what it's like to be a free agent and get his free dinners

OJ isnt undersized and he can shoot. He's not a great defender but he isnt "bad" either.

There's still teams that 10 to 12ppg and 3'a of the bench. And he's always been a good teammate, TA incident aside. Hopefully thats enough to get him 1+1 or something this summer.

If we lose jamal and Austin and there isn't any noteworthy alternatives,I wouldnt mind giving him a shot with lac.

It's an accomplishment that he's lasted as long as he did in the league. Slightly undersized at the 2. Not really efficient. Can't offer defense. He's 28. This next contract he signs might be his last?
When people say that a 6'5 or 6'4 SG is undersized it reminds me of when people say a 6'9 PF is undersized

I really don't think OJ is anything special at all but put some respeck on his name. If anything maybe a guy like Austin Rivers you could say that about, being surprised he's still in the league

Juice is fairly pedestrian from a physical stature, athleticism and skills (besides shooting) standpoint.

Juice was killing that year in Dallas until the end of the season when Dirk returned.

IIRC, Carlise threw him under the bus in the end of season presser.

He actually had a pretty decent year when he played for Dallas. Getting traded to Milwaukee didn't work out for him. Especially playing under Kidd. He needs a change of scenery.
Damn, how you gonna have your rookie season being your best season?

So. Many. Memories.

Remember this like it was yesterday. Him dropping 40 on The Rockets will always be dear to my heart.

Actually showed some playmaking skills in dallas as well.

His issue has always been his lack of length and athleticism though. Even in HS and college. Was never a high free throw guy, and at 6'4 that kind of put a cap on how good he could be in the pros.

Still think he can have some really good value to a contending team. Could be a better version of waiters for a contender.

He played TERRIBLE when Dirk came back. He was playing well when his usage was high, couldn't adjust to being a second fiddle

Never forget Dirk telling Carlise after an early season practice that they were going to miss the playoffs.

Bruh started the season shooting like 50% from 3 for a month and a half.
