Pat Riley has no idea how to see the value of players any more either.

People forget he was already in the league and got cut. Not even d league. Straight cut. Went to work on his game in local gyms. Riley caught on and brought him back to the league

How can you say Riley doesn't see value in players when he's the one who pulled Whiteside out of the ymca gym and put him back in the league?

Because he won't give him the max when he proved he's a max player.

If he really cares that much, he would give him what he deserves.

It's not even like it would handicap them.

Riley is great but he does seem like the "you'll take what I give you" type.

A fair shake? No. How you drop somebody with that size and talent out of the league. And he worked out in plenty of teams training camps. Nobody wanted to touch him.... Except Miami. So no.

Learn the motto us South floridians go by. "trust in Riley" he'll probably shave off a couple million short of max and use it towards getting another piece... Which is smart

Wow..I mean I talked about this. WE talked about this...but did any of us really see it coming? The hometown kid. Did we really see him getting flipped, or just leaving on his own volition with the contract ended? I'm surprised. But, things have a way of working themselves out. Couple years ago we were talking about melo joining the bulls to play with rose. now rose is joining the knicks to play with melo. Something about this smells like destiny. Like it is what was supposed to happen. As crazy as Cleveland got for their chip...The Big Apple would lose its damn mind if the knicks won. I'm in for a chip in the city that never sleeps. NY will always have a place in my heart so a chip in the garden would be soooooooooooo clutch. Do it Phil!
