I'm depressed. I knew it was coming but it still doesn't feel right. Hes synonymous with basketball for me.

Ehhhhhh. All this "the right way" stuff is cringe worthy IMO. It's all subjective.

When you're as accomplished and impactful as Timmy and the rest of his peers, you should be allowed to choose the manner in which you'd like to go out. Whether it's some grandiose OD retirement tour or a simple press release. I won't cast judgment on it either way. They all earned that.
I don't think kd had anything to do with him retiring
I'm sure at least it made it much easier.

His old *** doesn't have to deal with that new behemoth.

It's gonna be weird not seeing out there coordinating with Pop and co.

Man...I HATED Tim Duncan between 2002 and 2006, dude was completely unstoppable. Against the Nets, against the Pistons, the Lakers, every time he touched the ball, something good would happen.

It's different with the likes of Kobe who can hurt his team at times with his selfishness, Duncan makes the right play every time. So efficient, so fundamentally sound...I hated him but wished he was on my team.

He will be missed.

The rightful way to go about it.

When the time comes, I hope LeBron does the same.

 the "right" way to go about it

Says who?

I have mixed feelings on the retirement/gift tour happenings.

Certain players are defintiely deserving, Duncan being one of them. But a gift from each team he faces for the last time, is that necessary? It's to say what impact did he have on said team over the years vs the league office itself gifting him?

On another note, are the Blazers that far behind the Spurs right now?

I wonder what Aldridge feels about this.
