2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

The league should've just applied the one free throw and inbound to the entire game instead of the last two minutes of each quarter.

What's stopping a team from hacking a player if they have no fouls to give with five or six minutes left in a given quarter?

Nah you'd let these guys off the hook with that. Got to still make em shoot 2 FTs at some point.

I get this perspective, but I'm not trying to see someone shoot 10 or 12 free throws in a five minute span. :\

So exactly how has the rules changed? you can't hack a shaq until 2 minutes left? or after 2 minutes you get free throw & ball? I thought thats how it always was

It was the last 2 minutes of the 4th and OT, now it's the last 2 minutes of every quarter where the hacked is protected.

If it isn't the last 2 minutes, nothing has changed.

A sixers legend for his brief run he had before he got hurt

I hope he gets his chance at a team.

Silver says super teams aren't good for the league...lockout incoming.

As long as the players and teams are operating within the guidelines, super teams of some sort will happen.

Exactly.

They gonna lock the league out and be like "HEY GUYS THIS SUPER TEAM STUFF ISNT FAIR, YOU STOP THAT RIGHT NOW" and it's just gonna end?

They can implement a franchise tag or push for a hard salary cap and abolish max contacts in the next CBA all which in theory would lead to more stars being distributed throughout the league.

It looks like those guys are having more fun.
I'm going to go play with them........

I guess I can understand that If it's my 9 year old nephew who says it

Just imagine if the owners can find a way to do this just as the crazy FA class of 2017 comes up.

No more cap on max contracts and you have both KD and Curry who could command 50 mil a year easy but e with a hard cap maybe a little bit higher where the luxury tax is now it's not possible to retain both and fill out a roster. It'd honestly be crazy to see, the GS and quite frankly CLE dynasties could be over before they started.

It isn't enough to own and run a super profitable multi-million/billion dollar sports team. You have to also be able to influence and sometimes actually decide what decisions a player can make as well. Excellent
