We get it, your Center can't shoot free throws. Nobody cares

Bryan Colangelo Admits 76ers Will Likely Trade Okafor, Noel Or Embiid
JUL 13, 2016 11:04 AM

The Philadelphia 76ers have a logjam at the big positions in Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel.

"There's no question you can look at our roster and say we have some unbalance," said Bryan Colangelo. "We're top heavy. We have some good talent there."

Colangelo talked positively about the individual attributes of each player.

"We have to figure out what we're going to do with everybody. When you look at the calls coming in, quite frankly, everyone's trying to poach a big man from us."

Colangelo also talked about his support for how Okafor publicly criticized reporting about the 76ers trying to trade him.

"Absolutely not," said Colangelo when asked if he's comfortable entering the season with their three centers on the roster. "We're not going to make a bad deal just to make a deal. I think we can be a better basketball team if we can distribute that talent better. Maybe take one of those assets and address other needs on the roster. I think right now it's best to say we like all of them, we want to see if we can make the most out of each of them. At the end of the day, the reality says one has to go at some point but only when the deal is right."

This is not gonna end well

I liked joe houses take on the Westbrook situation. He basically said they should wait until the season starts because with all the influx of rich contracts of guarenteed money, you don't know how a lot of guys will react to their new big contracts. It's unlikely it will make much of a difference if you trade fro him over the summer or at the beginning of the season for your team. Just wait to see how the potential players you will trade for are handling the new money situation.

^ it's cant much worse for the sixers though can it?

I mean I can't see the offers getting any better. I've been saying this since they drafted oak. Teams are gonna try to fleece them knowing they HAVE to get rid of a big and they have no leverage. Their value is going to go down when they regress because they can't play together, Noel already regressed because he couldn't play with oak last year. It would be even worse if hinkie was still there because of his horrible reputation around the league. Gonna end up getting peanuts in exchange for a top 3 pick

Noel would fit perfectly next to Horford and he's from Boston. Haven't seen him around the team even once this entire offseason and they haven't had him in any of the social media marketing. I think a Noel to the Celtics deal will happen, but idk what the Celtics would give up. Smart and Crowder aren't the best shooters so idk how they would fit with Simmons. Bradley has to be the guy they want.

I would want Noel but i dont know if i want to give up Bradley

Dude was first team all defense and is a much improved shooter. Plus his deal is a straight bargain. I know Philly isnt just giving up Noel for free but id hate to see Avery get traded away just for the sake of making a trade

That being said, Avery is injury prone and might have cost us the Atlanta series with his fragile self. We'll see

If Boston would have agreed to take Noel for #3, everyone would have walked away happy. Now Boston is stuck with Brown, we still have three confused centers and Dunn is killing the summer league. :smh:

Minny making more solid moves

THIS.

So pissed they wasted that #3 pick instead of giving it to us for Noel. That was the best deal for both parties. I wanted Dunn on the Sixers badly.

Lol. I liked Jordan Hill when he first got to the Lakers, but over time his value deteriorated.

I wanted Dunn so bad #Pause. Then to watch him be ferocious in summer league. Imagine if we had him, Portis, Mcdermott, Mirotic. Sweet Jesus. :smh:

What does their roster look like?

PG: Rubio/ Dunn/ Tyus Jones
SG: Lavine/ Muhamad
SF: Wiggins/ Prince
PF: KG/ Dieng/ Hill
C: KAT/ Nikola

I can see them fighting for a playoff spot, but they still lack the depth to make them secure a spot. Unless we see significant improvements from Wiggins and Lavine.

Rubio is what he is, and I really do wish the Spurs can somehow grab him via trade. Something tells me Pop will make the most of his potential.

The only bright side here is that next year's crop of PGs will be loaded. I don't know much about them, but I am hopeful it will make up for this.

On that same note, after watching Ben Simmons these last few games and looking at the team structure, who would you rather have? Noel or Jah?

History tells us Russ Westbrook gets moved. As much as that **** ******g sucks for them, Sam Presti realizes he's gonna have to press that button. You just CAN'T take the growing risk of losing out on your other franchise player without getting a major haul back. At least this way it jump starts your rebuild.

I think he might get dealt before the season starts. A strong assurance from Russ is necessary for them to keep him around until season's end, and that still might not be enough.

@SneakerPro went a step further shooting his shot...
Russ will be in Boston before the season starts

SP I still need an answer on that $100 lockout bet, broski.

can they get anything for embiid? that's a high risk if a team is giving up a lot

Danny Ainge ****** up badly. All those "assets" he's been doing nothing with. Think they had like 8 picks in this draft and they actually used every one of them. Mostly on just random euros that'll never come over. I don't understand what his thought process was with that.

They could have had Dunn, Noel/Okafor + Covington + Timothe + Furkan...or they could have drafted Dunn and traded him in a package for Jimmy Butler. There were probably other offers we don't know about too.

I'm assuming they probably aren't going to get much for Embiid at this point with him not having had played an NBA game in the two years since he got drafted.

The dolt was too busy trying to win trades and increase his notoriety than make sound basketball decisions.
