2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

I'm assuming they probably aren't going to get much for Embiid at this point with him not having had played an NBA game in the two years since he got drafted.

They could trade Embiid for a Hyundai Sonata at this point, no one seems confident that he can fully recover, or if his injury will keep occurring, at this point get whatever you can get.

so are they gonna change the hack a shaq rules this season?
I thought they released the changes yesterday?  Basically can do the hack a shaq for the last two minutes of each quarter and if you hack a player before the inbounder inbounds the ball it is a shot and ball back.

Danny Ainge ****** up badly. All those "assets" he's been doing nothing with. Think they had like 8 picks in this draft and they actually used every one of them. Mostly on just random euros that'll never come over. I don't understand what his thought process was with that.

They could have had Dunn, Noel/Okafor + Covington + Timothe + Furkan...or they could have drafted Dunn and traded him in a package for Jimmy Butler. There were probably other offers we don't know about too.

Noel would've been a rental and Okafor can't defend the wing which is a big problem in today's NBA.

Bulls probably wanted the 3rd pick plus Bradley and Crowder for Butler... No thanks.

Celtics own Nets 2017 and 2018 picks so why rush things 8)

Worst case scenario for Jaylen Brown is he'll become Jeff Green 2.0 which isn't a bad thing

Wut.

Embiid is untouchable. You don't spend a high lottery pick, send him to some exotic recovery institution in Asia, have all the patience in the world for 2 years dealing with setbacks, develop him in the system, then deal him for some scraps once he reaches the finish line. Nope.

Ainge has a top 3 pick in a strong 2017 draft. Laugh at his Pokemon cards all you want, but that class projects to be loaded

Embiid is untouchable. You'll see why if he stays on the court this year.

Yea but so far that looks like that is all Ainge is good at...having the ability to acquire potential. Doesn't seem like he is very good at turning that ability to anything of any real substance.

Jeff Green was waaaayyy better coming into the league than Jaylen Brown. Also, with Noel being from Boston and them being a playoff team that he fits in on they probably have a higher chance than anybody of signing him to an extension.

i never thought Embiid was all that. This was before the injury. Now with those foot injuries? Good luck to him. Big men with foot issues don't turn out very well. Hope he can overcome

*Kanye shrug

That guy said
"I pay for N@@@@ like you scholarships" :x

I'm sure Draymond said exactly what he the guy said. But, I'm not going to act like Jermaine didn't talk his head off, either. I don't believe he was as respectful in that report as he made himself seem.
