2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

Deep down KD probably doesn't even believe that he is a villain. He's saying because it seems like the thing to say. He's still a nice young man, he just likes saying villain, if Russ had left to join the Dubs, he would legit be a villain, but KD as a villain feels forced. In fact, KD feels bad about living the lie of being a villain, his shoes will go back to $88.

 it's impossible for me to not like KD. I just think he's a good dude. I understand his decision and I respect it just because it was his decision to make.

As much as guys may not like super teams, the best part of them in my opinion is how other teams go at them the best they can every night.

while i can see why Iggy would say that the Thunder were the best team in the playoffs, I still dont see them beating the cavs in the finals if they made it.

Boston needs to be patient man. Just wait till FA dawg. You're aren't winning anything anyways. Just relax

Aye but forreal,

I prop Curry for being there and taking it like a Man. He has been owning up to it all off-season. Saying he didnt play well. No excuses.

Lebron would not have even showed up to the ESPYS if they lost the finals, he has done it before. And would of had 1 million excuses.

Did Lebron miss the 2015 ESPY's or something?

A friend of mine brought this up - what are the chances we get a 30 for 30 on the Thunder, starting from the 2012 Harden trade til this summer with KD leaving/possible trading of Westbrook?

We can't get suckered into talking about these fugazi *** rumors man. That Blake 3 way proposal smelled bad from the jump.

Very possible. Start it from the first season in OKC though. Very compelling storylines. The Harden trade smh.

The next time Deveney has the inside scoop on something big like this will be the first.

I want the trade to be true but I'm gonna need those Nets picks in return.

The Bg Rudy Gay Boston thing has no validity to it. They aren't actively shopping blake griffin. No reputable source has reported on it. As of now it doesnt appear to be happening but if it does it would be for more than just picks, I think. (Trading bg for picks would mean cp walking this summer which esentially means giving up on this core which is understandable, but according to doc he isnt so I doubt it would be for just picks and rudy gay)

And there's no reason to blow up the Clippers. Granted, CP and blake are both free agents but health aside, they're currently the 2nd best team in the west and should have a great shot at making a wcf. Plus CP is 31 and in his prime, and blake griffin and DJ are both what, 28&27? Core is too good and too young to give up on no matter how many times they've come up short in recent years. In my opinion at least.

They were a top six team on both ends of the floor and return virtually everybody while all of the west elite (minus gsw) got weaker.

i just can't count out the spurs. despite losing TD, diaw, and west (all aging players) i don't see them dropping off too much or losing that 2 seed. that core of leonard, lma, tp, and manu is still incredible

I mean I could see the Spurs finishing higher than the Clippers but I honestly see more reasons why the Clippers are better than the Spurs.

TP / Manu / Green / Mills are lowkey not good anymore. Its saying something when I think Patty Mills is the best player and most playable player out of that bunch.

Kawhi is all world, for sure.

But a frontline of LMA and an old Gasol isnt defending anyone and I trust a frontline of Blake and Jordan to be better and more active than what the spurs have now. Over the course of the 7 game series they played two years ago, both jordan and Griffin were terrors with their activity and skill, and with duncan gone thats only going to be exacerbated even more.

I think Memphis if healthy, has a shot at finishing better than the Spurs too. I just have serious reservations about their best players injuries and age wise.
