2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

that speech to open the espy's is why jim brown doesnt like kobe.

no reason kobe couldn't have gotten up there with the brotherhood and made a statement.

What's your starting line up looking like

Conley
Parsons
gasol
Then who??

Tony Allen
Zach
Wright
Adams
Green

Lineup is looking like

Conley
Allen
Parsons
Zbo
Gasol

Baldwin / Harrison (as backup PG)
Daniels
Ennis / VC
Jamychal / Jarell Martin
Wright

I think they are putting a lot of stock into the rookie backup PG's with Baldwin and Harrison. Daniels is an elite shooter that I'm hoping Fizdale can turn into a capable 10-15 minute per game player. Ennis finished last season strong, we know what Wright is when healthy and Green is another quality energy guy.

He's not part of the banana boat crew though.

Memphis issue has been injuries and lack of player development.

We finally have a coach that supposedly believes in player development and building relationships. The front office finally went out and got quality shooters and Parsons was considered a very good pick and roll player and elite spot up shooter.

I really don't see how Memphis gets worse next year. Last year was something you rarely see in the NBA with the team having to play 29 different players. If we have that same type of bad luck again this upcoming year, I don't know what to say

I think people just forget Memphis dominated in the 2015 season holding on to the 2nd seed until falling apart at the end of the year. They dominated Portland in the 1st round and Conley went down. Their team was worse then than it is now.

I think the Blazers going to have a great season, maybe crack the top 4 seed. Also don't sleep on OKC even without KD, assuming Russ is there.

Blazers were a fluke last year. The west had a mean down year.

I can't remember the last time that 44 wins got you a 5 seed in the west.

I don't see the Blazers being good this year. The Jazz, Grizzlies and Rockets got better.

I don't know if I would call DJ an offensively liability man how would they get better offensively without DJ? They've been elite on that end for the past 3 years and none of those guys you mentioned are in the same class as jordan from an athleticism, motor, durability, gravity or defense standpoint. I dont think lac is as good as they were defensively last year with miles plumlee or amir johnson taking jordan's place. He compromises entire defenses when he rolls to the basket.

I mean liability as you can't play him down the stretch. Clippers offense will be elite as long as Cp3 is orchestrating the offense. I'd just like to see the Clips have a competent 3. They haven't been able to upgrade that position.

Matt Barnes was the best one.

I don't buy Memphis as a top 4 team at all. Aging or injury prone core. New coach. Weak shooting. Their anchor is coming off a serious injury and had already taken a step back

It goes

Warriors
Clippers
Grizzlies
Spurs

I think Houston will be 5th
Okc 6th
Portland 7th
Minny 8th

Utah might get in at 6 or 7 depending if okc trade russ

Blazers will get to 50 wins,Same finishes top 5 in MVP voting, stay schleep if you want to. Oh and Utah not making the playoffs either again. T'Pups taking that next step with Thibs.

Agreed with everything you said about the blazers.

And I think Wes Johnson could be Matt Barnes for LAC just...better and younger. What he does well can be exacerbated with lac.

Anthony Bennett to the Nets. I hope he works hard and can stay in the league. Always thought he had potential... plus he looks to be getting in better shape... If Whiteside can do a 180 I don't see why AB can't...

So much can happen throughout the course of the season.

Warriors are above everyone in the West.

Then, I think the Clippers, Grizzlies and Spurs are grouped very close together. I think the Spurs are a great matchup for both the Clippers/Grizz as it stands. I think the Grizz are a bad matchup for the Clippers as it stands.

Then, you have Portland, Utah, OKC, Rockets somewhat grouped together. None of these teams are better than the teams above no matter how you try to put it. Especially not in a playoff series.

So what happened to Randy Foye being an x-factor for OKC last season??

Andre Iguodala said OKC was the best team in the playoffs better than Cavs

People will say anything after getting their layup pinned to the backboard like Edward pinned up against the shower in American History X

Maaaaan.  I been tellin people.  They just picked up Turner and then Ezeli isn't a monumental signing but he fits with those bigs that they have up there in Portland.  People sleep on this team and that backcourt.  I love Lillard.  He gets a different look in his eye whenever he comes down here to play the Warriors.
