2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

Root for him like you rooted for A.I.

Same difference.

Same outcome.
You know what the saddest thing is for me.

KD threw the GSW series.

I'm passed the point of trying to believe that he wouldn't do this.

He wasn't blatant with it, but.....dude folded on purpose.

sidenote: The thing that kept me from believing he wouldn't throw the series was, him potentially returning to OKC.

Like why would he throw his chance, just to return to OKC next year and try again.

He would have tried to win right?

He never had any intention of staying, and he couldn't join a team he just beat, that's why.

Meh, who am I kidding.

I rewatched game 6 and 7 today, I think it just has me wilding and talking reckless maybe. Dude ******* blew it, though, damn.

The more and more i think about it and play out certain things in my mind..the way he interacts with them...seems like some kansas city shuffle type ishhh.

Amd seriously...ill never forget the way he acted when they lost. Dude was indifferent. Thats a dangerous mindstate. I rmember mentioning it to my dudes when we wat hed the presser immediately after they coughed up my dough hahaha. We all said he seemed like he was cool af. Just too damn chill. Too relaxed and nonchalant. Like fam..yall were just up 3-1 and lost. He was so cool that after game 7 it legit sounded like he was about to say, sall good fam, we'll get em next game. Da fudge b? Wash yourself

Exactly.

His hugs and embraces on the court after, were goodbyes, not consoling.

Russ gonna be scoring leader this year? That's pretty much in the bag now, yes?

Celtics, heat, 6ers gonna be competing for that top 3 pick

 Boston is the lone threat to dethrone Cleveland. What are you smoking, bro?

Lakers will be in the mix for a playoff seed

Sarcasm? I hope?

i think the clippers get the 2 seed in the west. i can see OKC being 4-5 assuming russ stays.

did the spurs get any better with pau over duncan? he's a terrible defender and relies heavily on mid range jumpers (where LMA typically operates).

Clippers yes, OKC, hell nah!

1 warriors
2 spurs
3 clippers
4 jazz
5 blazers
6 mavericks
7 pelicans(health)
8 rockets
9 grizzlies(health)
10 twolves
11 suns
12 nuggets
13 kings
14 lakers
15 thunder(if westbrook is traded)

Most accurate list.

Adams
Kanter
Roberson
Dipo
Russ

Not a bad 5 really. Bench could use some help though.
all depends on what payne does in his 2nd year (looked good in summer league).. and what exactly alex abrines is

who knows if mitch will get burn (always looks good in summer league).. and sabonis is a rookie, but he's got skill

and Roberson and/or maybe kanter might not be starting

If I remember correctly everyone had Amare as a high MVP candidate his first year in NY until they got Melo.

I remember this exactly. Everyone doubted his abilities when he first left the Suns but he was proving that he could hold his own without Nash.

Melo came in a trade that deflated that roster and Amare willingly took a step back and was never the same since.

I also remember this quite well

He may have felt home in NY because he apparently thinks he's a Jew? I remember that one summer he spent in Israel "finding his roots"

bhz does this every summer.

Except last summer

I didn't feel like we addressed anything last summer and we had a rotation full of old guys. I just think we are more balanced now than any team we've had. If injuries are the concern, nothing we can do about that.

Fascinating to watch bhz's heel turn. He's really embraced the villain.

parsons got you hype?

kinda, b

not expecting him to be some star player, but he was really good when he did play a long stretch of games. conley/marc never played with anyone who had the abilities he has. i'm concerned about his surgeries and recovery just like anyone, but i'm remaining optimistic about him at least giving us 70 games (had 61/66/74 the last 3 seasons).

Yea and we the only team with health concerns apparently.

Considering Blake, Paul and KD have been more fragile than Marc/Conley the last couple of seasons.

Welp, there is the Clippers again when no one is talking about them.

Did one of the Clippers bang your family members?

Respect to Amare for retiring as a Knick.

His first year was really exciting as Knicks fans who didn't have a lot to cheer about.

He was a beast in his Suns days and one of my favorite players at the time.

It's a shame he couldn't stay healthy.

I hope you're not saying this about Derrick in 5 years

Let's not have history repeat itself :x

"Three weeks ago, Kevin Durant’s sitting there at dinner, telling him 'Hey, I’m coming back, man. Don’t worry about it.' And now, Russell Westbrook has been kind of thrown into this in having to decide his future a summer earlier than expected.

"Kevin Durant, more so than even that, was telling people, 'Hey, yeah, I mean I’m coming back.' Like I said in there, a week before Kevin Durant sat down in the Hamptons, he was in Oklahoma City ready to make an offer on a multi-million-dollar house. So, the guy was pretty serious about coming back, and then things turned rather quickly for him to leave. And there’s no doubt that the organization felt a little bit burned by this."
