probably because you are used to seeing the 23s on current retro xis which have the 2 and 3 with no spacing. The OGs and first retro xis had that spacing btw the 2 and the 3 which is what we looked for what separated the fakes from the authentics. Also the ball on the jumpman should be close to or near the spacing of the 23. There were no unauthorized or early released pairs back then and the fakes looked god awful and was easier to tell.
These are 100% legit like the pair i used to own.
