Bred 4 Midsole Paint Removal Help

Hello, I just started to remove the paint on my bred 4s because it was chipping and I noticed that there seems to be two layers; there's a white layer and a more off white layer beneath the white layer. I was wondering if I am damaging the midsoles because in most of the repaint videos I see, they only get to the brighter white layer. I was using nail polish remover to strip the paint. If you have any information please help and thank you.
