HBO's The Night Of

I love all of yall theories in here man.

All seems so plausible. The camerawork focuses of sooooo soooo much.

Wouldnt even be surprised if we missed something still

NaZ so damn naive man.

Maybe its the way I was brought up (haitian american), but I would assume a Pakistani-American would have some sort of skepticism of the American judicial system

I mean.. only Bodie and his boy knew she wasn't in there alone. If it isn't one of them two, it's someone they haven't even introduced yet.

Could Naz have walked out of the police station?

If he did and the desk cop saw him, should he just run? Technically, he wasn't under arrest, correct?

Too many shows that are currently on. Netflix, and cable got some heat.

Got a backlog on my DVR. What do yall rate this show?

Yeah he could've. Should've pretended he was going to the bathroom and left.

6/8 so far.

We still don't know who owns the apartment she took Nas to right? That has to be important.

She has no job, and basically just goes around sleeping with dudes to make a living and to feed her addiction according to her step dad.

I watched Episode I when it was first available & thought it was a decent pilot. I just completed Episode II & that just felt long & drawn-out. Not as dramatized as the pilot, but it could give you the sense of Naz' waiting period & stagnant position. The direction that I got from that episode was that they are trying to make us key-in on the step-father, but I don't see him as having any involvement in the murder.

Honestly, the only thing I took from Episode II was when they grabbed the laptop from the brother for evidence. I know the father spoke about it as if it were the family computer, but I feel like it was solely the brother's. You can only do so much with 2 episodes so forgive me if I'm reaching on this, but I vaguely recall a scene where the brother walks in to check on Naz. We get it; Just a family member taking a normal/nightly piss while looking-out for the well-being of his brother in the late hours of the night so he cautiously goes to the dad to ask where he is.

The key part of all this goes back to the first episode when Naz took the taxi. He looked at his parents & they were tuning-out on the bed watching TV. He then looks at the brother in the other room who is either doing homework or some other miscellaneous thing(s) with a desk lamp. In Episode I, we get a glimpse of the parents soundly asleep, but not the brother. The imagery & perception of the next scene gives us the impression that the brother "woke-up" & took a piss followed by checking on Naz. However, the room he checked was the room he was previously in when Naz left with the taxi. Revert back to Episode II & there are two desks in the room with the detective & police. It appears that one of the police members is laying-out clothes on another bed after the other person dumped the clothes from the laundry basket on Naz' bed giving me the image that the brothers actually shared a room. Hopefully, you guys can see where I'm getting at, but this is what I've taken from both episodes...

hmm, brother may be involved? even darker, maybe an honor killing of sorts.

lots of possibilities right now.

It's hers, belonged to her mother who passed.
Oh, missed that. So that kind of implies that her mother was rich? Since they made it a point to acknowledge that was an area of high affluence by pointing out Bodie doesn't belong there.

A wealthy person passing away might mean disputes and bitterness between the people who are inheriting her things, which could be a motive for her husband/the stepdad?

Dang that would be hella crazy. The only thing for me is that he thought Nas was going to the party. Even Nas thought he was going to the party. So if he killed her, they would have to explain how he knew where Nas was and the murder would have been a random decision made that night. The murder feels too premeditated for me to believe it was an out of the blue decision. So I think it was someone on her side, not someone linked to Nas. Someone that knew she likes to bring guys over, get high to the point of passing out, and do weird stuff and planned to pin the murder on one of them.

The story is set in 2014 so GPS tracking the taxi via the internet wouldn't be a problem. Their bedroom was positioned at the front of the house so seeing the car leave could have easily been plausible by the brother. I don't think the killer was directly tied to the girl as that seems too mundane & common in the realm of murder mysteries, but it's certainly not out of the question. They made potential characters do those awkward stares, but I have a feeling it's someone affiliated to Naz or even Naz himself (schizophrenic?). They paint the girl as loose & rightfully so as she hooked-up with Nas within hours, but it looked like she more so gave him pity with the way she talked to him. It's clear that she uses drugs regularly so she likely had a higher resistance/tolerance to their effects than Naz. Someone saw the "party" inside & made advances thinking she would be good to go. She is coming to her senses & declines while Naz is still out cold. This is why I'm oddly tying in the brother. When the mother was in the bedroom, she found all those condoms. Naz stated that he only had sex with one other woman in his life & as common as it is to be ready & have contraceptives on deck, I think those were his brother's.

At this point, anyone can take the story to small or large scale possibilities. My "theory" can easily be squashed in the next episode(s), but I'm sticking to the brother completing the infamous "Khan Gang Bang". Haha! Since the taxi has GPS, they'll be able to tie-in other unsolved cases of rape and/or malicious activity by matching the taxi's location with approximate times & dates. That or one of the other 2/3 owners of the taxi had been involved. Not a premeditated murder, but a means of erasing evidence...

Well we haven't ruled out the lawyer as a suspect. Seems too convenient.... A high profile murder case magically falls into his lap?

Detective will break the case when he finds foot cream in the crime scene.
